Mukul Sangma
Mukul Manda Sangma is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 2010 to 2018 and is currently leader of the opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. He has been a member of the All India Trinamool Congress since November 2021; previously, he was a longtime member of the Indian National Congress. Early life and career Sangma was born on 20 April 1965, son of teachers Binoy Bhushan M. Marak and Roshanara Begum at Ampatigiri, now the headquarters of South West Garo Hills district. In 1990, he graduated in medicine from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal in 1990, and joined Zikzak Public Health Centre as a health and medical officer in 1991. United Democratic Party (Meghalaya)
The United Democratic Party is a political party recognised in Meghalaya state, India. It is now led by Metbah Lyngdoh. It was started by E. K. Mawlong. Abu Taher Mondal
Abu Taher Mondal ( bn, আবু তাহের মণ্ডল) is an Indian Bengali politician, social worker and retired civil engineer. He is a four-time MLA of the Phulbari constituency in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. Early life and education Mondal was born into a Bengali Muslim family in the plains region of the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. His father was Samsul Huda Mondal. Mondal graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He owns land in Shyamding and Phulbari. Career Despite being an independent candidate during the 1998 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election, Mondal successfully beat Manirul Islam Sarkar for the Phulbari constituency. Mondal joined the Nationalist Congress Party for the 2003 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election but was unsuccessful against Sarkar this time. An independent or non-partisan politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association. There are numerous reasons why someone may stand for office as an independent. Some politicians have political views that do not align with the platforms of any political party, and therefore choose not to affiliate with them. Nationalist Congress Party
The Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP) is one of the nine national parties in India. The party generally supports Indian nationalism and Gandhian secularism. It is the largest opposition party in Maharashtra and is also a significant party in other states. Party formation and performance The NCP was formed on 10 June 1999, by Sharad Pawar, P. A. Hill State People's Democratic Party
The Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP) is a regional political party active in the state of Meghalaya, northeast India. Formed in 1968 as a split from the All Party Hill Leaders Conference by Hopingstone Lyngdoh, the HSPDP has had representatives in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly since the Assembly's first elections in 1972. The HSPDP has been a junior member of coalition governments in Meghalaya on a number of occasions and following the 2018 election joined the National People's Party-led government of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
