2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy
The 2013 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy was the sixth annual international rugby union competition for under-20 national teams, second-tier world championship. The event was held in Temuco, Chile and was organized by rugby's governing body, the International Rugby Board. The tournament was originally to be held in Antofagasta, but that city pulled out of hosting only a few months before the tournament. World Rugby Under 20 Trophy
The World Rugby Under 20 Trophy (known as the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy until 2014) is an international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, World Rugby, and is contested by 8 men's junior national teams with an under-20 age requirement. This event replaced the World Rugby's former age-grade world championships, the Under-19 and Under-21 World Championships. The inaugural tournament was held in June 2008, hosted by Chile and with 8 teams participating. The World Rugby Under 20 Trophy is the second level of the World Rugby tournament structure for under-20 national sides. At the same time that the Trophy was launched, World Rugby (then known as the International Rugby Board) also launched an upper-level championship, featuring 16 teams in 2008 and 2009 and a reduced format for 12 teams from 2010 and onwards. Pitrufquén () is a Chilean city and commune in Cautín Province, Araucanía Region. The city is located 30 km south of Temuco and lies immediately south of the Toltén River, along Chile Highway 5. Estadio Municipal Germán Becker
The Estadio Municipal Bicentenario Germán Becker Baechler is a stadium located in Temuco, Chile and owned by the Temuco municipality. It is the home ground of Deportes Temuco and also, the former ground of the defunct Unión Temuco football clubs. It was designed by Enrique Esteve and inaugurated on August 13, 1965. Its dimensions are: 105 x 68 m. It has a capacity of 18,413. It was originally built for the inmates at the Temuco prison. The highest ever recorded attendance was on December 3, 1972 when 32,551 spectators saw the Primera Division match between Green Cross Temuco and Colo-Colo. In 2007 the stadium was selected as a venue for the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, and to comply with FIFA standards, its facilities were improved, its capacity was decreased from 20,930 to 18,936; and all seats were covered by a roof (from about 80% previously).
