2013 Gent–Wevelgem
The 2013 Gent–Wevelgem was the 75th running of the Gent–Wevelgem single-day cycling race. It was held on 24 March 2013 over a distance of and was the seventh race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season. The race was originally scheduled to be over a distance of , but due to snow, the race start was moved from Deinze to Gistel. The race was won by Slovakia's Peter Sagan of the team, after making a solo attack with remaining, and ultimately held on to win the race by 23 seconds ahead of a group of nine riders. Second place went to Slovenian Borut Božič, riding for the team, while Greg Van Avermaet was the highest-finishing Belgian rider, completing the podium for the . The 2013 UCI World Tour is the fifth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. UCI ProTour
The UCI ProTour was a series of road bicycle races in Europe, Australia and Canada organised by the UCI (International Cycling Union). Created by Hein Verbruggen, former president of the UCI, it comprises a number of 'ProTour' cycling teams, each of whom are required to compete in every round of the series. It was initially the basis of a season long competition for rankings points, created for 2005 to replace the UCI Road World Cup series, which ended at the end of the 2004 season (although the World Cup did not include any stage races). The ProTour was the subject of continuing disputes involving the UCI, cycling teams, and the organizers of the world's most prominent bicycle races (most notably, the Grand Tours), and in 2009 and 2010 the ranking element of the ProTour was superseded by the UCI World Ranking. Andrey Amador
Andrey Amador Bikkazakova (born 29 August 1986) is a Costa Rican professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Amador is the son of Rodolfo Amador, a Costa Rican and Raisa Bikkazakova, a Russian immigrant who arrived in the country after meeting and marrying Amador's father. He is the youngest of three brothers. He started cycling professionally at the age of 20 in 2006, but started cycling at a very early age. Amador was selected to carry the flag for Costa Rica at the 2011 Pan American Games opening ceremony. He is the first Costa Rican to ever ride the Tour de France. In 2012, Amador won a mountainous stage 14 in the Giro d'Italia after breaking away from the group during the final descent right before the final climb. Yaroslav Popovych ( uk, Ярослав Попович; born 4 January 1980) is a Ukrainian former professional cyclist, who rode professionally between 2002 and 2016. The winner of the under-23 road race at the 2001 UCI Road World Championships, Popovych turned professional in 2002 with , where he performed particularly strongly in the Giro d'Italia, finishing third in 2003. Upon joining in 2005, his focus switched to the Tour de France, where he won the young riders' classification in 2005 and won stage 12 in 2006.
