2013 Evian Championship
The 2013 Evian Championship was played 12–15 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 20th Evian Championship (the first 19 played as the Evian Masters), and the first as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The inaugural event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Heavy rain before and during the first day of the tournament forced Thursday's played to be suspended and the scores abandoned. The initial plan was to play the first and second rounds on Friday and Saturday and play the final 36 holes on Sunday. The Women's World Golf Rankings, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Rolex Rankings, were introduced in February 2006. Lee-Anne Pace (born 15 February 1981) is a South African professional golfer. Career Pace was born in Paarl, Western Cape. She had a successful amateur collegiate career in the United States, where she attended Murray State University and the University of Tulsa, graduating with a degree in psychology. Ji-Young Oh ( ko, 오지영, born 3 July 1988) is a South Korean professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Oh started playing golf at the age of 12 and was named to the Korean National Team in 2005 at the age of 16. Stacy Lewis (born February 16, 1985) is an American professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She has won two major championships: the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2011 and the Women's British Open in 2013. Han Hee-won (Korean 한희원) (born 10 June 1978 in Seoul) is a retired South Korean professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She was a member of the LPGA Tour from 2001 until her retirement in 2014 and won six LPGA Tour events during her career. She attended Ryukoku University and turned professional in 1998. Na Yeon Choi ( ko, 최나연 ; born 28 October 1987) is a South Korean professional golfer playing on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. In July 2012, she won the U.S. Women's Open for her first major championship.
