2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at Scandinavium and Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 1–3 March 2013. Bidding process The decision to grant the event for Gothenburg was made by the European Athletics Council at their long meeting in Malta on October 15, 2007. Initially, Gothenburg applied for the 2011 Championships against Paris. The European Athletic Association thought the two cities presented very good concepts, and it ended up with the two candidates get one championship each; Paris in 2011 and Gothenburg in 2013. Gothenburg will use the concept ''All under one roof''. Venue The main venue for the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships will be Scandinavium with a maximum capacity of 12,000 spectators, but at the event the arena will have about 6,500 spectators because of the reconstruction.
