2012–13 In Spanish Football
The 2012–13 season was the 109th season of competitive football in Spain. It started officially on 1 July 2012 and ended on 30 June 2013. Competitions dates La Liga and Segunda División started for its first time around middle August, after previous season it was frustrated because of strike. All competitions made a break during Christmas holidays between 24 December 2012 and 3 January 2013. 2012–13 La Liga
The 2012–13 La Liga season (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 82nd since its establishment. The campaign began on 18 August 2012, and ended on 1 June 2013. Barcelona won the league for a 22nd time, after leading the league the entire season and amassing 100 points, equalling Real Madrid's points record from the previous season. As in previous years, Nike provided the official ball for all matches, with a new Nike Maxim Liga BBVA model to be used throughout the season for all matches. Teams A total of 20 teams contested the league, including 17 sides from the 2011–12 season and three promoted from the 2011–12 Segunda División. ''El Diario Vasco'' (English: ''The Basque Daily'') is a Spanish morning daily newspaper based in San Sebastián, Basque Country. History and profile ''El Diario Vasco'' was founded in 1934 by the Sociedad Vascongada de Publicaciones, led by conservative writers such as Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena or Ramiro de Maeztu. Real Sociedad de Fútbol, S.A.D., more commonly referred to as Real Sociedad (; ''Royal Society''), La Real in Spanish, Erreala in Basque, is a Spanish professional sports club in the city of San Sebastián, Basque Country, founded on 7 September 1909. Mikel Aranburu
Mikel Aranburu Eizagirre (born 18 February 1979) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent his entire professional career with Real Sociedad, appearing in 427 official matches for the club and scoring 32 goals. Club career Born in Azpeitia, Gipuzkoa, Aranburu made his professional debut aged 18, in the last round of 1996–97 against CD Logroñés, courtesy of manager Javier Irureta. Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij (anglicised to Van Nistelrooy; born 1 July 1976) is a Dutch professional football coach and former player. He is currently the coach of PSV Eindhoven. A former footballer, Van Nistelrooy is often considered one of the best strikers of all time. The 2011–12 season was the 108th season of competitive football in Spain. The season began on 3 August 2011 for the Copa Federación, 19 August for Tercera División, 20 August for Segunda División B, 26 August for Segunda División, 27 August for La Liga and 31 August 2011 for the Copa del Rey. The 2012–13 Segunda División season (known as the Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 82nd since its establishment. The season started on 17 August 2012 and the league phase of 42 rounds ended on 9 June 2013. The entire season ended on 22 June 2013 with the promotion play-off finals. Teams A total of 22 teams contested the league, including 15 sides from the 2011–12 season, four promoted from the 2011–12 Segunda División B and three relegated from 2011–12 La Liga. Villarreal CF, Sporting de Gijón and Racing de Santander were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. Villarreal was relegated after 12 years in La Liga, Sporting de Gijón returned to the Segunda División after a four-year tenure in La Liga, while Racing de Santander ended ten consecutive seasons in La Liga, the longest period in its history. 2012–13 Primera División (women)
The 2012–13 Primera División season was the 25th edition of Spain's highest women's football league. FC Barcelona were the defending champions, having won their 1st title in the previous season. The season played from 2 September 2012, and end on 5 May 2013. A total of 16 teams contested the league, 14 of which already contested in the 2011–12 season. Sevilla and Levante Las Planas were promoted from the Segunda División last season. The championship was decided on the last matchday, when Athletic Club Bilbao met Barcelona.
