Southend United F
Southend-on-Sea (), commonly referred to as Southend (), is a coastal city and unitary authority area with borough status in southeastern Essex, England. It lies on the north side of the Thames Estuary, east of central London. It is bordered to the north by Rochford and to the west by Castle Point. It is home to the longest pleasure pier in the world, Southend Pier. London Southend Airport is located north of the city centre. Southend-on-Sea originally consisted of a few poor fishermen's huts and farms at the southern end of the village of Prittlewell. In the 1790s, the first buildings around what was to become the High Street of Southend were completed. Anthony Straker
Anthony Othneal Straker (born 23 September 1988) is a semi-professional footballer who most recently played for National League South side Havant & Waterlooville. A defender or midfielder, he has also been capped on ten occasions by the Grenada national football team. Club career Born in Ealing, London, Straker started his career in the youth system at Crystal Palace, and was a trainee with the club. He went on trial with League One club Yeovil Town in March 2007 before being released by Palace. Straker signed a one-year contract with Conference Premier club Aldershot Town on 6 August 2007, after a successful pre-season trial. Dan Bentley (footballer)
Daniel Ian Bentley (born 13 July 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has played in the English Football League for Southend United, Brentford and Bristol City. Career Southend United Bentley was born in Basildon, Essex and began his career as a centre back with hometown club Hutton Medway. A one-off appearance as a goalkeeper was witnessed by an Arsenal scout, who brought Bentley to the club's academy at age eight. He was released in 2008 and quickly signed for Southend United, with whom he started his apprenticeship in March 2009. Bentley was sent out on loan to Conference South club Braintree Town initially on cover for one match. Luke Prosser
Luke Barrie Prosser (born 28 May 1988) is an English professional footballer who last played as a defender for Stevenage. A product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy, Prosser joined Port Vale in 2005. He spent five years at the club, also spending time on loan at Leigh RMI, Salisbury City, and Kidderminster Harriers. He moved on to Southend United in 2010, and was initially loaned out to Rushden & Diamonds. He played for Southend in the 2013 Football League Trophy Final and was an unused substitute in the 2015 League Two play-off final victory. He was loaned out to Northampton Town in January 2016, and helped the club to win promotion as League Two champions in 2015–16. Mark Phillips (footballer)
Mark Ian Phillips (born 27 January 1982, Lambeth) is a retired professional footballer who played in the Football League for Southend United, Millwall, Brentford, Darlington and AFC Wimbledon as a defender. Career Phillips was signed as a youth player for Millwall at age 13 and first appeared with the senior team in September 2001. He suffered from frequent injuries and notched up just 67 league appearances during his seven years at Millwall, scoring once against Sheffield United. He was released at the end of the 2007–08 season. Phillips signed a one-year deal for Brentford on 14 August 2008, after a successful trial spell and played regularly for the first team after James Wilson's loan had expired. Kevan Hurst
Kevan James Hurst (born 27 August 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Currently Joint Manager of Belper Town Tornadoes Under 8's. Career Hurst was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. A versatile player, he can play all across the midfield or forward line though his preferred position is left-wing. He made his first senior appearance in the League Cup against Queens Park Rangers on 23 September 2003 with his only league appearance for the Blades coming on 25 September 2004 as a 90th-minute substitute for Tommy Black against Coventry City. Jonson Scott Clarke-Harris (born 21 July 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for EFL League One side Peterborough United. He set a new record during his first spell at Coventry City when, aged 16 years and 21 days, he made his debut becoming the youngest player ever to play for the Coventry first team. Barry Corr (born 2 April 1985) is an Irish former professional football striker and currently first team coach at Cambridge United. Club career Early career Corr started his career at St. Anthony's, Kilcoole before moving to Leeds United. After four years at Leeds he moved to Sheffield Wednesday. At Wednesday he had loan spells with Bristol City, where he scored his first professional goal, and Swindon Town, helping them achieve promotion to League One with 3 goals in his 8 appearances and a nomination for League Two player of the month for April. Neil Harris (footballer, Born 1977)
Neil Harris (born 12 July 1977) is an English professional football manager and former footballer who played as a striker. He is currently manager of League Two side Gillingham. Harris is Millwall's all-time record goalscorer, with 138 goals in all competitions. He broke the previous record of 111 goals, held by Teddy Sheringham, on 13 January 2009, during a 3–2 away win at Crewe Alexandra. He has made the fourth most appearances for the club, with 432. Michael Timlin
Michael Anthony Timlin (born 19 March 1985) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League South club Dulwich Hamlet. Born in Lambeth, England, Timlin graduated through the Fulham Academy, making his debut in a League Cup game in 2004. During this time he spent time on loan at Scunthorpe United, Doncaster Rovers and Swindon Town before joining Swindon permanently in 2008. Freddy Eastwood (born 29 October 1983) is a former professional footballer. He started his career with West Ham United and also played for Southend United, Grays Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City. He played eleven times in his international career for Wales.
