2012–13 Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Ice Hockey Season
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's hockey team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Gophers hosted the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four and repeated as national champions. Notably, the Gophers were the first ice hockey team in the history of today's NCAA Division I, of either sex, to complete an undefeated season. The last NCAA ice hockey team to complete an unbeaten season was the 1983–84 Bemidji State men's team, which then competed in Division II, a level that no longer holds a championship (the Beavers now compete in Division I hockey). Cornell Big Red Men's Ice Hockey
The Cornell Big Red men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Cornell University. Cornell competes in the ECAC Hockey conference and plays its home games at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, New York. Six of the eight Ivy League schools sponsor men's hockey and all six teams play in the 12-team ECAC. The Ivy League crowns a champion based on the results of the games played between its members during the ECAC season. Cornell has won the ECAC Championship a record 12 times and has won the Ivy League Title 24 times (20 outright, four tied), second to Harvard's 25 (21 outright, four tied). Hannah Brandt
Hannah Brandt (born November 27, 1993) is an American ice hockey centre, currently playing for the Minnesota section of the PWHPA. She was named to the United States women's national ice hockey team, which represented the United States at the 2012 IIHF Women's World Championship. She won the 2012 Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award. She debuted for the U.S. national women's team at the 2014 4 Nations Cup in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Playing career High school With the Hill-Murray Pioneers, she registered 59 goals and 31 assists in 26 games of the 2011–12 campaign. NCAA Division II
NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III. Brad Frost
Brad Frost is the current women's ice hockey head coach at the University of Minnesota. Since 2007, he has coached Minnesota to 4 NCAA Championships, 7 Frozen Four appearances, and 4 Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) post-season titles. Early life Frost was raised in Burlington, Ontario. He graduated from Bethel University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education. He played as a forward on the hockey team and served as team captain for two years. After graduation, he was an assistant coach for the Eagan (Minnesota) High School girls' team and then for the Bethel University men's team. In June 2001, Frost joined the coaching staff at the University of Minnesota as an assistant to Laura Halldorson. The Bemidji State Beavers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Bemidji State University.
