2012–13 Honduran Liga Nacional
The 2012–13 association football, football season was the 47th Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, Honduran Liga Nacional edition, since its establishment in 1965. The season was divided into two tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) and determined the 61st and 62nd national champions. The campaign began on 28 July 2012, and ended in May 2013. Club Deportivo Olimpia was the reigning champions after winning in 2011–12 Honduran Liga Nacional, 2011–12. 2012–13 teams On 3 June 2012, C.D. Real Sociedad obtained the promotion to the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras, Liga Nacional as winner of the 2011–12 Liga Nacional de Ascenso de Honduras season, 2011–12 Liga de Ascenso. Liga Nacional De Fútbol Profesional De Honduras
Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. La Ceiba () is a municipality, the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida (department), Atlántida and a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. It is located on the southern edge of the Caribbean, forming part of the south eastern boundary of the Gulf of Honduras. San Pedro Sula () is the capital of Cortés Department, Honduras. It is located in the northwest corner of the country in the Sula Valley, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) south of Puerto Cortés on the Caribbean Sea. Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano
Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano is a multi-purpose stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. It is currently used mostly for football matches and also has facilities for athletics. It has a capacity of 37,325. History It was built in 1997 for the sixth edition of the Central American Games held there. This stadium was built by Jerónimo Sandoval, mostly known by "Chombo Sandoval", he was the organizer of the 1997 Central American Olympic Games in San Pedro Sula, which caused many controversies. After its completion the stadium became the largest in the country dispatching Estadio Nacional's of that title. It has been the home for Honduras national football team since the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification, with Estadio Nacional hosting some games on and off. Nery Medina
Nery Olvin Medina Norales (born 5 August 1981 in Santa Rosa de Aguán, Honduras) is a Honduran footballer who most recently played as right back for F.C. Motagua in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras. Club career Nicknamed ''el Flash'', Medina started his career at F.C. Motagua with whom he won one league title and also played for Municipal Valencia and Real España, whom he left in June 2010. Necaxa On 8 August 2010, Medina made his debut in the Liga Nacional de Futbol de Honduras for C.D. Necaxa against F.C. Motagua in a 3–0 win. Georgie Welcome
Georgie Wilson Welcome Collins (born 9 March 1985) is a Honduran professional footballer who plays as a striker. Welcome is the only player to debut with the national side playing in the second level of Honduras. Club career Welcome started his career at Arsenal FC (Roatan) and was snapped up by Honduran giant F.C. Motagua in 2008. On 1 August 2010, Welcome travelled to Glasgow to begin a week-long unsuccessful trial with Scottish champions Rangers. In January 2011, Welcome was sent to AS Monaco on loan from Motagua. David Molina
David Alejandro Molina Guerra (born 14 March 1988) is a Honduran retired footballer who played as a defender. He spent his entire career with F.C. Motagua in the Honduran national league. Club career Molina is a Motagua youth product. He played for Motagua's first team from 2006 to 2013 where he appeared in 100 games and scored 5 goals. With Motagua, he won the 2010–11 league title. In the 2011–12 season, featuring in all of Motagua's matches earned him the nickname ''Iron Man''. He retired in 2013, at the age of 26, due to an injury to his right knee. Amado Guevara
Amado Guevara (born 2 May 1976) is a Honduran former professional footballer and manager. He was the coach of Puerto Rico from 2018 to 2019. A former midfielder, he is the second all-time cap leader for the Honduras national team seconded by Maynor Figueroa . He was selected as the Best Player of the 2001 Copa América, held in Colombia.
