2012–13 European Challenge Cup
The 2012–13 Amlin Challenge Cup was the 17th season of the European Challenge Cup, Europe's second-tier club rugby union competition. A total of 23 teams participated — 20 in the pool stage, plus three teams parachuting into the knockout stages from the 2012–13 Heineken Cup, Heineken Cup. The original 20 teams represented six countries. The pool stage began in Stade Guy Boniface, Mont-de-Marsan on 11 October 2012, with Stade Montois hosting Gloucester Rugby, Gloucester. It ended on 19 January 2013 when Stade Français hosted competition newcomers London Welsh RFC, London Welsh, followed by the knockout stages culminating in the final at the RDS Arena in Dublin on 17 May 2013. Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne (), commonly referred to as SU Agen, Agen () or SUALG, is a French professional rugby union club based in Agen, Lot-et-Garonne that competes in the Pro D2, France's second division of rugby. Aviron Bayonnais ( eu, Baionako Arrauna), commonly called Bayonne, is a French rugby union club from Bayonne (''Baiona'', in Basque) in Pyrénées-Atlantiques which, for the 2016-17 season, competed in the top tier of the French league system, in the Top 14 competition. Wasps Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby until being suspended on 12 October 2022. The 2011–12 División de Honor was the 45th season of the top flight of the Spanish domestic rugby union competitions since 1953. It began in autumn 2011 and finished on May 12 with the Final. Gernika Rugby Taldea is a Basque rugby team based in Gernika, Bizkaia which play in the Spanish League. The team was set up by some rugby supporters of the unfortunately bombed village, and is enjoying a steady rise in popularity in the region. For the 2012–13 season, Gernika took part in the European Challenge Cup.
