The 2012–13 season was Coventry City's 93rd season in The Football League and their first season in Football League One following relegation from the Football League Championship. In addition to League One, the Sky Blues also entered the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Football League Trophy in the first rounds. Andy Thorn (footballer)
Andrew Charles Thorn (born 12 November 1966) is an English football manager and former professional footballer. He was most recently the manager of Kidderminster Harriers. As a player, he was a defender from 1984 until 1998. Whilst with Wimbledon, he was part of the side that achieved the famous victory over Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup Final. He also played in the 1990 FA Cup Final for Crystal Palace, although this time ended up on the losing side. He also played for Newcastle United, Hearts and Tranmere Rovers. Club career Thorn began a playing career with Wimbledon in 1984, playing as a traditional English centre half in the Crazy Gang, alongside Dennis Wise, Lawrie Sanchez and Vinnie Jones. During his initial period at the club he played 107 league games, scoring twice, and also winning five England U21 caps. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. The EFL is divided into the Championship, League One and League Two, with 24 clubs in each division, 72 in total, with promotion and relegation between them; the top Championship clubs change places with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier League, and the bottom clubs of League Two with the top clubs of the National League. Ernie Machin
Ernie Machin (26 April 1944 – 22 July 2012) was an English professional footballer who played as a midfielder. After unsuccessful trials with Bolton he was playing for Nelson, when Coventry City scout Alf Walton recommended him to Jimmy Hill, then the Coventry manager, and he became one of Hill's first signings in 1962. He made his debut against Millwall on 8 April 1963 and went on to make 289 appearances for the club, a figure which would have been considerably higher had it not been for long-term knee injuries. He was a key player in Coventry's promotions from Division Three in 1964 and Division Two in 1967, scoring 11 goals in the latter season including several late winning goals and the first goal in the classic 3–1 victory over Wolves in April 1967. The 2012–13 season was the 133rd season of competitive football in England. The season began on 11 August 2012 for the Football Conference and 18 August 2012 for both the Premier League and The Football League. The regular season of the Football Conference season ended on 20 April 2013 followed by League One and League Two both ending on 27 April 2013 whilst The Championship ended on 4 May 2013 and finally the Premier League on 19 May 2013. Richard Shaw (footballer Born 1968)
Richard Edward Shaw (born 11 September 1968) is an English football coach and former professional footballer, who is under-23s coach at Championship side Watford. As a player, he was a defender from 1986 until 2008, notably in the Premier League for Crystal Palace and Coventry City as well as in the Football League for both Hull City and Millwall. He later became a coach and joined the coaching staff at Millwall where he saw time as caretaker manager in 2007. He later returned to Coventry in 2012 as assistant manager where he also took over temporarily. The following season he re-joined Palace as their under-23 side coach from 2013 in a role he held until 2019. In 2021 Shaw became assistant coach for Watford's under-23s. Stevenage ( ) is a large town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, about north of London. Stevenage is east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), between Letchworth Garden City to the north and Welwyn Garden City to the south. Steve Harrison (footballer)
Steven John Harrison (born 26 December 1952) is an English former professional footballer, manager and coach. As a player, he played as a full-back for Blackpool (his hometown club), Vancouver Whitecaps, Watford and Charlton Athletic. Following his retirement, as a manager and coach he worked at Watford, Millwall, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Preston North End and Aston Villa, as well as working with the England national football team under Graham Taylor. He moved to Middlesrough in 2001 following the appointment of Steve McClaren and in 2003 he was appointed as the team's defensive coach. Harrison took on a more general role after Gareth Southgate took over, but left the club in July 2008 after suffering health problems in recent years. Dagenham & Redbridge F
Dagenham () is a town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Dagenham is centred east of Charing Cross. It was historically a rural parish in the Becontree Hundred of Essex, stretching from Hainault Forest in the north to the River Thames in the south. Dagenham remained mostly undeveloped until 1921, when the London County Council began construction of the large Becontree housing estate. Matches
A match is a tool for starting a fire. Typically, matches are made of small wooden sticks or stiff paper. One end is coated with a material that can be ignited by friction generated by striking the match against a suitable surface. Wooden matches are packaged in matchboxes, and paper matches are partially cut into rows and stapled into matchbooks.
