2012–13 Baylor Bears Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Baylor Bears men's basketball team represented Baylor University in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Scott Drew's tenth season at Baylor. The Bears competed in the Big 12 Conference and played their home games at the Ferrell Center. They finished the season 23–14, 9–9 in Big 12 play to finish in sixth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Big 12 men's basketball tournament, Big 12 tournament to Oklahoma State. They were invited to the 2013 National Invitation Tournament, 2013 NIT where they defeated Long Beach State, Arizona State, Providence, BYU, and Iowa enroute to become the 2013 NIT champions. Scott Drew
Scott Homer Drew (born October 23, 1970) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach of the Baylor Bears, a position he has held since 2003. Drew began his coaching career as an assistant for Valparaiso under his father Homer Drew. Following his father's retirement in 2002, Drew would serve as the head coach of Valparaiso for one season before being hired by Baylor in 2003. Drew took over Baylor as a program in ruins, following decades of poor performance and a public scandal that resulted in numerous NCAA sanctions. Following an unsuccessful first 4 seasons while rebuilding the team, Drew turned Baylor from a program with only one NCAA tournament appearance since 1950 into a perennial tournament contender appearing in 10 of 13 tournaments since 2008. Quincy Acy
Quincy Jyrome Acy (born October 6, 1990) is an American former professional basketball player who last played for Olympiacos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. He currently works as a player development coach for the Texas Legends of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for Baylor University. High school career Acy attended John Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas. As a senior in 2007–08, he averaged 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Earl Warren High School
Earl Warren High School is a public school located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Northside Independent School District. As with all Northside ISD high schools, it is named for a former United States Supreme Court justice - in this case, former Chief Justice Earl Warren. Ricardo Darnell Gathers (born January 7, 1994) is an American rapper and former American football tight end. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round (217th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played college basketball at Baylor University and did not play college football. Isaiah Charles Austin (born October 25, 1993) is an American former professional basketball player. He played two years of college basketball for Baylor University and was set to enter the NBA in 2014 until he was diagnosed with a mild form of Marfan syndrome.
