2012–13 BIBL Season
In the fifth season of the Balkan International Basketball League, twelve participants from the Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Israel, Croatia and the new represented country Greece has competed. Teams Format First round In the first round the teams were divided into two groups, each containing five teams. Each team played every other team in its group at home and away. The three teams that finished at the top of their group advanced to second round (or Group C). The teams that finished fourth and fifth in their group advanced to another group (or Group D). The opening game has been played on October 16, 2012 and the last match day was played on January 15, 2013. Second round The six teams, qualified for group C, kept the results between them from the first stage and played with the three teams from the other group home and away games. The Prva A liga, for sponsorships reasons named the Erste Liga, is the top-tier professional basketball league in Montenegro. It is the highest basketball division organized by the Basketball Association of Montenegro (KSCG). It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. The league is sponsored by and named after Erste Bank. Currently, two clubs from the area are playing in the regional ABA League. BIBL Seasons
The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL), also known as the Balkan League, is a multinational professional basketball league that features mostly clubs from the Balkans. The league included teams from countries as Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania and Israel. The most recent league champion is Hapoel Galil Elyon from Israel. Purpose The purpose of the Balkan International Basketball League is to provide competitive international play for clubs in the Balkans that would otherwise be unable to participate in international basketball. The league achieves this by providing financial support to all participating clubs in order to ease the costs that make international play difficult. Samokov ( bg, Самоков ) is a town in Sofia Province in the southwest of Bulgaria. It is situated in a basin between the mountains Rila and Vitosha, 55 kilometres from the capital Sofia. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece.
