2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup
The Azerbaijan Cup 2012–13 is the 21st season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. It started on 23 October 2012 with ten games of the first round and ended on 28 May 2013 with the final. FC Baku were the defending champions, with twenty-one teams competing in this year's competition. The winner of the competition will qualify for the first qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. First round The games were played on the 22 and 24 October 2012. Second round The five winners from the preliminary round joined the remaining eleven teams of the Azerbaijan Premier League in this round, all games were played on 28 November 2012. Quarterfinals The eight winners from the second round were drawn into four two-legged ties. The first legs were played on 27 February 2013 and the second legs on 7 March 2013. Azerbaijan Cup
The Azerbaijan Cup is a major association football competition in Azerbaijan. In its original form, it started in 1936, when Azerbaijan was a republic of the Soviet Union and it was not disputed by Azerbaijani teams in the Soviet league pyramid. Compared to cups in many other countries, Azerbaijan attracts considerably less public interest and even the cup final is rarely sold out. Consequently, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan has experimented with the format in order to raise the profile of the cup. Format The clubs from Azerbaijan First Division (2nd tier) play in the First Round. The winners of that round advance to the Second Round, where the clubs from Azerbaijan Premier League (1st tier) join. For the quarterfinals and the semifinals, the round-robin system is used. Shuvalan FK ( az, Şüvəlan Futbol Klubu, ) is an Azerbaijani football club based in Şüvəlan, Baku. The club was renamed four times in its short history becoming Olimpik Baku, Olimpik-Shuvalan Baku, AZAL and Shuvalan. UEFA is still recognizing the club as Olimpik-Shuvalan at European competitions. 2012–13 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2012–13 Azerbaijan Premier League was the twenty first season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. The season began on 4 August 2012 and finished on 20 May 2013. Neftchi Baku are the defending champions, having won the previous season. No club from 2012–13 Azerbaijan First Division was directly promoted. Teams A total of 12 teams will contest the league, including 12 sides from the 2011–12 season, which means two teams will not be promoted from the 2011–12 Azerbaijan First Division. On 10 April 2012, FK Qaradağ sealed promotion to league after winning first division. However, due decision of AFFA about licensing, no clubs from division will be promoted which means all clubs from last season will be remaining in the league. Shusha FK ( az, Şuşa Futbol Klubu) was an Azerbaijani football club based in Baku. It represented the city of Shusha. Shafa Stadium
ASK Arena ( az, ASK Arena), formerly Inter Arena and Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku . The stadium was built on the site of Termist stadium in 2001 and has a capacity of 8,125 spectators. The stadium surrounded by practice fields, administration buildings and four-star hotel. Background ASK Arena was built by AFFA in 2001. The first match played was a 2001–02 UEFA Cup first qualifying round between Shafa Baku and Olimija Ljubljana where the match ended 0–4.
