2012–13 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2012–13 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 43rd staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970. The draw for the 2012-13 fixtures took place in August 2012. The championship began on 14 October 2012 and ended on 17 March 2013. Loughgiel Shamrocks were the defending champions. St. Thomas's secured the title with a 1-11 to 1-9 defeat of Kilcormac–Killoughey in the All-Ireland final. Teams A total of sixteen teams contested the championship, including all of the representative teams from the 2011–12. The Armagh champions and the Carlow champions joined these teams in 2012-13. The 2012–13 championship also saw a number of first-time participants. Kilcormac–Killoughey of Offaly, Swatragh of Derry and St. Thomas's of Galway won their first county championship titles and represented their respective counties in their respective provincial championships. Ciarán Slevin
Ciarán Slevin (born 1986) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Offaly senior team. Slevin has played for Offaly at levels, beginning as a member of the county minor and under-21 hurling teams. He joined the senior team during the 2007 National League and was included on the panel for the subsequent championship. He enjoyed little success during his one season on the senior team. At club level Slevin is a one-time Leinster medalist with Kilcormac–Killoughey In addition to this he has also won one county club championship medal. Playing career Club Slevin plays his club hurling with Kilcormac–Killoughey and has enjoyed some success. After losing two county senior championship finals to Birr and Tullamore in the space of three years, Kilcormac-Killoughey lined out in a third championship decider in 2012. Middletown Eoghan Rua Gaelic Athletic Club, also known as Eoghan Ruadh (Owen Roe's), is a GAA club from Middletown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The Antrim Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bathshack.com Antrim Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Antrim SHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Antrim County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the winners decided through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Antrim hurling. In its present format, the eight teams are drawn into two groups of four teams and play each other in a single round-robin system. The two group winners proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final. Tony Considine
Tony Considine served as manager of the Clare senior hurling team from November 2006 until August 2007. Considine was ratified as the Clare hurling manager to succeed Anthony Daly in November 2006 at a county board meeting in Ennis. He had previously served as a selector on the Clare all-Ireland junior winning team of 1993 under Mike McNamara. At senior level, he was also part of Ger Loughnane's backroom team (along with McNamara) that guided Clare hurling through a successful period between 1995 and 1998. The Limerick Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bon Secours Hospital County Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick SHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Limerick in Ireland. Ross O'Carroll
Ross O'Carroll (born 1 January 1987) is a hurling and football player for Kilmacud Crokes and formerly of Dublin. Hurling O'Carroll made his championship debut for Dublin against Wexford in the 2007 Leinster championship and scored a total of 1–01 in a game which Dublin lost by a point. The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship ( ga, Craobh Sinsear Iomána Átha Cliath) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Dublin GAA, Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA) since 1887 for the top hurling clubs in County Dublin, Ireland. Sixteen clubs compete. Kilmacud Crokes GAA
Kilmacud Crokes ( ir, Cill Mochuda Na Crócaigh) is a large Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stillorgan, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Background Kilmacud GAA club was formed in 1959 following a historic public meeting in Saint Laurence's Hall, where Stillorgan shopping centre now stands. The first meeting of the club took place on 12 March 1959. Sixty people attended the meeting and donated a shilling each, meaning the club made IR£3.30 on the night. The club decided to use green-and-white jerseys, but they later decided to use the gold-and-purple colours, some say because of the local school Scoil Lorcain Naofa who also use gold and purple, others say it was because blue are the colours of the crocus. Danny Owens
Daniel "Danny" Owens is an Irish retired hurler who played as a midfielder for the Offaly senior team. Born in Killoughey, County Offaly, Owens first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut with Offaly during the 1980-81 National League and immediately became a regular member of the team. During his career Owens won two All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. At club level Owens played with Kilcormac–Killoughey. Throughout his career Owens made 25 championship appearances. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1992 championship. In retirement from playing Owens became involved in team management and coaching. He is the current manager of Kilcormac–Killoughey and has guided the team to one Leinster and three championship titles. The Offaly Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Molloy Environmental Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Offaly GAA clubs.
