2012 Woodlands Wellington Season
The 2012 season is Woodlands Wellington's 17th competitive and consecutive season in the top flight of Singapore football and 25th year in existence as a football club. Key Dates * 1 January 2012: Club Captain Sazali Salleh leaves for Tampines Rovers after his second stint with Woodlands Wellington. Sazali played 54 times for the Rams between 2010 and 2011, and he has appeared a total of 158 times in total for Woodlands. In contrast, goalkeeper Ahmadulhaq Che Omar and defender Daniel Hammond rejoin Woodlands Wellington for the second time. Woodlands Wellington FC
Woodlands Wellington Football Club is an inactive professional football club which played in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. They are based in Woodlands at the 4,300 seater Woodlands Stadium, where they have played since their establishment. Woodlands Wellington FC's honours include winning the inaugural Singapore League Cup in 2007, defeating Sengkang Punggol FC 4–0 in the final. They also finished runners-up in the Singapore FA Cup in 1997, and also in the Singapore Cup in 2005 and 2008 and won the President's Centennial Cup in 1998, a cup competition organized by the Philippine Football Federation to celebrate the centennial of Philippine Independence by defeating Hong Kong Rangers FC 2–1 in the final in Bacolod. Ahmadulhaq Che Omar
Ahmadulhaq Che Omar is a Singaporean goalkeeper who last played professionally for Hougang United FC. Until the merger of his former club Woodlands Wellington FC with Hougang United in 2015, he is the record holder of being the longest serving player for the Rams. Career Starting in S.League Ahmadulhaq started off his career as a youth player in Woodlands Wellington before moving up to feature in the senior team as the reserve goalkeeper in the 2005 S.League season behind Yazid Yasin. Unable to find a starting spot for himself due to Yazid's fine form, Ahmadulhaq moved to Tampines Rovers in 2007 behind Rezal Hassan. He returned to Woodlands in the 2008 S.League season but once again had little game time as Woodlands employed the services of Yazid Yasin and veteran Rezal Hassan in 2009. Bedok Stadium
Bedok Stadium is a football stadium located in Bedok, Singapore. The stadium is open daily from 4:30am till 8:30pm to the public, unless it is exclusively booked. The stadium is managed by Sport Singapore. It was the home ground for Geylang International FC till 2019. Facilities & Structures The stadium has a seating capacity of 3,964 people. Nigel Vanu
Navin Neil Vanu (born Navin Nigel Vanu, 11 August 1989) is a Singaporean footballer who last played as a striker for Woodlands Wellington FC. Apart from playing as a forward, he can also operate effectively as a winger. Club career Having played for Geylang United and Woodlands Wellington in his youth, Neil was promoted to the senior squad of the Rams in 2010, where he made 28 appearances for the northern side in his maiden season with the senior squad. His speed and nifty footwork were soon noticed by Slobodan Pavković, the coach of the Singapore Under-23 squad and he was soon drafted into the Young Lions in the midst of the 2011 season in preparation for the 2011 Southeast Asian Games held in Indonesia later that year. Young Lions (football Team)
Young Lions Football Club, commonly known as Young Lions, is a Singaporean developmental football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League. The team is under the direct control of the Football Association of Singapore. The Young Lions are one of the few football clubs in the world which place an age restriction on team members while playing in a top-flight professional league. The Young Lions plays their league matches at the Jurong West Stadium. Their best S.League finish was third, which they achieved in 2004 and 2006. Goh Swee Swee (; born 1 June 1986) is a Singaporean footballer who plays for Hougang United in the S-League. Club career Goh started his S-league career with Gombak United but only played 1 game for the Bulls before joining Home United in 2007. At that time, the Protectors offered him a S.League contract while he was still on a Prime League contract with Gombak. He immediately repaid the favour to the Protectors by scoring a 90th-minute winner against Liaoning Guangyuan in his debut on 16 March 2007.
