2012 West Asian Football Federation Championship
The 2012 WAFF Championship was the 7th WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation. It was hosted by Kuwait from 8 to 20 December 2012. The defending champions were Kuwait national football team, Kuwait. However, they did not get past the group stage. The tournament was won by Syria for the first time. Ashraf Nu'man Al-Fawaghra ( ar, أشرف نعمان الفواغرة; born 29 July 1986) is a Palestinian footballer who plays for Shabab Al-Khalil of the West Bank Premier League and the Palestine national team as a forward or attacking midfielder. Abbas Ahmad Atwi ( ar, عباس أحمد عطوي; born 12 September 1979) is a Lebanese former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Making his debut for Lebanon in 2002, Atwi was the all-time most capped player for his country with over 80 international caps, before being surpassed by Hassan Maatouk in 2020; he played for the national team for over 13 years, until his final match in 2016.
