2012 Tour Of Turkey
The 2012 Tour of Turkey was the 48th edition of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey cycling stage race. It was held from 22 April–29 April 2012, and was rated as a 2.HC event on the UCI Europe Tour. Bulgarian Ivailo Gabrovski originally won the race after dominating the third stage, but was later found to have used EPO and was disqualified. It was officially announced in October 2012 that the winner of the Tour of Turkey is Alexsandr Dyachenko of . Teams and cyclists There are 25 teams in the 2012 Tour of Turkey. Among them were 9 UCI ProTeams, 14 UCI Professional Continental teams, and 2 Continental teams. Alexsandr Dyachenko
Alexsandr Dyachenko (born 17 October 1983) is a Kazakh former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally from 2004 to 2006 and 2008 to 2015, for the , and teams. In 2012, Dyachenko put in a solid performance at the Tour of Turkey, where he finished second overall, but the original winner Ivailo Gabrovski tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO). In October, it was announced that Gabrovski was stripped of the title, which went to Dyachenko. On 10 June 2022, he was suspended for four years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport for doping. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Rafael de Mattos Andriato (born 20 October 1987) is a Brazilian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Born in São Paulo, Andriato has competed as a professional since the start of the 2012 season, joining the team from the Petroli-Firenze squad. Takashi Miyazawa
(born 27 February 1978 in Nagano City) is a Japanese former professional racing cyclist, who competed as a professional between 2003 and 2014. Career Miyazawa had a varied early career, riding cyclocross at first, then participating on various teams in Japan, Italy, and France, and even riding independently at times. He once quit road cycling to participate in the keirin school. Finally settling on road cycling with Bridgestone Anchor in 2005, Miyazawa quickly established himself as one of Japan's top sprinters, reaching the podium not only in Japan, but in Asia and Europe as well. He was Asian champion in 2007 and represented Japan in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Alessandro Petacchi (born 3 January 1974) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 1996 and 2015. A specialist sprinter, Petacchi has won 48 grand tour stages with wins of the points jersey in the Giro d'Italia in 2004, the Vuelta a España in 2005 and the Tour de France in 2010. He also won the classics Milan – San Remo in 2005 and Paris-Tours in 2007. His career spanned over 18 years during which he earned 183 victories. In 2007, Petacchi was banned from cycling and had his results achieved disqualified for doping. An Olympic silver medalist and five-time world champion, he is the brother of Olympic medalist in speed skating Jan Bos.
