2012 Supersport World Championship
The 2012 Supersport World Championship was the fourteenth season of the Supersport World Championship—the sixteenth taking into account the two held under the name of Supersport World Series. It began on 26 February at Phillip Island and ended on 7 October in Magny-Cours after 13 rounds. Kenan Sofuoğlu won his third championship after having returned from Moto2. Race calendar and results The provisional race schedule was publicly announced by the FIM on 24 September 2011 with thirteen confirmed rounds and two other rounds pending confirmation. Russia appeared for the first time in the calendar with a round at the brand-new Moscow Raceway. The calendar was updated in October 2011 with the confirmation of the Imola round, for a total of thirteen rounds, supporting the Superbike World Championship at every meeting except Miller Motorsports Park. 2012 Superbike World Championship
The 2012 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-fifth season of the Superbike World Championship. It began on 26 February at Phillip Island and ended on 7 October in Magny-Cours after 14 rounds. The season saw the number of complete motorcycles in use limited to one per rider; this meant that the rules allowing bike changes during a race (''flag-to-flag'') were cancelled. Aprilia rider Max Biaggi clinched his second SBK championship, pipping Kawasaki rider Tom Sykes by just half a point. Marco Melandri won more races than both Biaggi and Sykes this season but failing to score points in 5 of the last 6 races cost him the title. Sam Lowes
Samuel Deane Lowes (born 14 September 1990) is a British motorcycle racer competing in the Moto2 World Championship aboard a Kalex since 2019, and is part of the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team. Lowes' 2022 season ended early, being unable to race in October at Malaysia and the final round in November at Valencia, Spain, due to the after-effects of a significant shoulder injury at the British GP practice in August 2022. Sam is the identical twin brother of World Superbike rider Alex Lowes. Career He won the Supersport World Championship 2013 riding a Yamaha YZF-R6 for Russian team Yakhnich Motorsport in the championship, as well as the 2010 British Supersport champion riding a Honda CBR600RR. Sheridan Morais
Sheridan Morais (born 11 March 1985) is a motorcycle racer from South Africa. He has competed in the Superbike World Championship, the Supersport World Championship, the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup and the Endurance FIM World Championship. He competed in the Asia Road Race SS600 Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6 and completed his first ever road race as a wildcard for the German Penz13.com team in Frohburg in September 2019, as the team was sitting out of the first round of the FIM Endurance World Championship 2019/2020 season. In the previous season Morais and the Penz13.com team finished 5th in the EWC without even competing in the final race in Suzuka. Morais finished third in the 2022 Macau Grand Prix road race event, revived after the 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Misano World Circuit (officially known as Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli or Misano Circuit Sic 58, and before 2006 called Circuito Internazionale Santa Monica) is a race track located next to the town of Misano Adriatico (Province of Rimini) in the frazione of Santa Monica-Cella. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. The 2012 Monza Superbike World Championship round was the fourth round of the 2012 Superbike World Championship season and of the 2012 Supersport World Championship season. It took place on the weekend of May 4–6, 2012 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza located in Monza, Italy. Superbike Report At this round the championship held an awards ceremony marking their 25th anniversary, this however would be a round full of incident, the conditions were changeable throughout the weekend, and during a wet superpole riders were unable to make their wet tyres last more than 2 laps due to the tyres falling apart down the center due to the high speed nature of the Monza circuit.
