2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup
The 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup is the 21st edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. It was held from 24 May to 3 June 2012 in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. New Zealand won their first ever title by defeating Argentina with 1–0 in the final, while five-time champions India took the bronze medal by defeating Great Britain scoring 3–1. Stephen Jenness
Stephen Jenness (born 7 June 1990) is a New Zealand field hockey player. At the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament. He was part of the New Zealand teams that won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and bronze at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Robert Moore (field Hockey)
Robert Stephen "Rob" Moore (born 21 May 1981) is an English field hockey player. Moore is amongst the most capped England players and was a key part of the team that picked up a silver medal at the Champions Trophy 2010 and a gold medal at the European Cup 2009. He appeared in the 2012 London Olympics. Early career Moore is from Winchester, England. He went to school at King Edward VI, Southampton and studied economics at University of Nottingham. Throughout his academic career Moore was involved with all sports, showing a particular talent for hockey and cricket. Glenn Kirkham
Glenn Charles W. Kirkham (born 8 October 1982) is an English field hockey player who played for the English and British national team. Hockey Kirkham made his international senior debut for the national squad in January 2002 in a match against Poland. He was named as the England captain for 2006–07. He was part of the England team that participated in the field hockey world cup in Monchengladbach, Germany where they finished 5th overall. He also competed in the 2009 European championships in Amsterdam where England were champions. He was part of the England squad in Delhi, India at the Hero Honda World Cup that lost only one group game against Spain, putting them through to the semi-finals. Arun Panchia
Arun Peter Panchia (born 22 April 1989) is a former New Zealand field hockey player. He earned his first cap for the New Zealand men's national field hockey team in 2009 against Pakistan and retired from international hockey in 2020. Playing Career Panchia's career spanned over eleven years amassing 287 international caps over his career, retiring as the fifth highest capped Men's Black Sticks player of all time. Panchia competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, where the team finished seventh. Richard Petherick (born 4 April 1986 in Hamilton) is a field hockey player from New Zealand. While at Hamilton Boys' High School Petherick played for regional and national representative teams. He earned his first cap for the national men's team, nicknamed ''The Black Sticks'', in 2005 against Malaysia. Lucas Martín Vila (born 23 August 1986) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays for Spanish club Benalmádena as a forward. He made his debut for the national squad in 2005, after having played the Junior World Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He played a total of 262 times for the Argentina national team until 2021.
