2012 Stony Brook Seawolves Football Team
The 2012 Stony Brook Seawolves football team represented Stony Brook University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of the Big South Conference. The team was coached by Chuck Priore and played its home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York. This was their final season as a member of the Big South as they will join the Colonial Athletic Association in 2013. They finished the season 10–3, 5–1 in Big South play to share the conference championship with Coastal Carolina and Liberty. They received an at-large bid into the FCS Playoffs, their second straight playoff appearance, where they defeated Villanova in the first round before falling in the second round to Montana State. Chuck Priore
Chuck Priore (born February 17, 1960) is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head football coach at Stony Brook University, a position he has held since the 2006 season. Priore served the head football coach at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut from 2000 to 2005. He was also the head men's lacrosse coach at the University at Albany in 1986 and at Union College in Schenectady, New York from 1988 to 1991. Priore's coaching style is known for his run-heavy offense and aggressive defense. Playing career Priore played football at the University at Albany before graduating in 1982. He was the starting fullback for three seasons and was named team captain before his senior year. In 1982, he won the Spud Kruzan Award, given to Albany's most outstanding athlete. Dominick Reyes
Dominick Reyes (born December 26, 1989) is an American professional mixed martial artist and former college football player. He currently competes in the Light Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of December 6, 2022, he is #13 in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. Background Reyes was born in Hesperia, California, on December 26, 1989, and is of Mexican American descent. Marcus Coker
Marcus Coker (born May 11, 1992) is a former American football running back for the Stony Brook Seawolves. Early years Coker attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. As a senior, he rushed 165 times for 1,698 yards with 23 touchdowns. College career Coker attended the University of Iowa. As a true freshman in 2010 he rushed for 622 yards on 114 carries and had three touchdowns. He was the Offensive MVP of the 2010 Insight Bowl after rushing for 219 yards on 33 carries and two touchdowns. During the 2011 regular season, Coker ranked second in the Big Ten Conference and 10th among all players in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision with 1,384 yards.
