2012 Speedway Grand Prix Of Great Britain
The 2012 Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain, also known as the 2012 FIM Fogo British Speedway Grand Prix for sponsorship reasons, was the ninth race of the 2012 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on 25 August at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. The Grand Prix was won by Chris Holder who beat Krzysztof Kasprzak, Antonio Lindbäck and Fredrik Lindgren in the final. 1950 and 1953 World Champion Freddie Williams, Wales' only Speedway World Champion, presented the winners trophy to Holder. Riders The Speedway Grand Prix Commission nominated Scott Nicholls as Wild Card, and Ben Barker and Craig Cook both as Track Reserves. Injured Craig Cook (carpus broken) was replaced by Josh Auty. Injured Jarosław Hampel and Kenneth Bjerre was replaced by first and second Qualified Substitutes, Martin Vaculík and Krzysztof Kasprzak. Josh Auty
Joshua Liam Auty (born 8 September 1990) in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, is a British speedway rider. Career Auty was part of the Scunthorpe Scorpions team that won the Conference League Four-Team Championship, held on 18 May 2007 at Plymouth Coliseum. On 10 September 2007, Auty was signed to the Coventry Bees to ride in the Elite League. On 21 September 2007, Auty was selected to represent Great Britain for the 2007 Under 21-World Cup Final. Auty was Conference League Rider's championship runner up in 2007, held at Rye House, losing out to his Scunthorpe teammate Tai Woffinden. On 4 December 2008, Auty was signed on a loan deal from Coventry to Sheffield Tigers. In November 2011 he signed for Scunthorpe Scorpions for the 2012 Premier League season. Gregory Alan Hancock (born June 3, 1970 in Whittier, California) is an American former professional motorcycle speedway rider. As of 2023, he was one of only six riders to have won the individual World Championship four or more times. Tomasz Robert Gollob (; born 11 April 1971 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in every Speedway Grand Prix series between its inaugural season in 1995 and 2013. His brother Jacek is also a speedway rider.
