2012 Regional League Division 2 Bangkok Metropolitan Region is the 4th season of the League competition since its establishment in 2009. It is in the third tier of the Thai football league system. Regional League Bangkok Area Division
Regional League Bangkok Area Division is one of six 3rd Level Leagues in Thailand. It was formed in 2009 along with other four other regional leagues at the time. Currently the winner and runner up of each regional league enter the Regional League Championships to determine the three teams that will receive promotion to the Thai Division 1 League. League History 2009 Formed in 2009, 10 clubs applied and were accepted to be part of the new setup; Bangkok Christian College, Bangkok Bravo, Bangkok North Central ASSN, Kasetsart University, Kasem Bundit University, Rangsit University, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University, Raj Pracha-Nonthaburi, Raj-Vithi and Sarawitaya. Most of the clubs are linked closely to the city's universities. Raj-Pracha re-grouped for the new setup and relocated to the Nonthaburi district on the outskirts of Bangkok and were accordingly renamed to give themselves closer ties to the area. 2011 Regional League Division 2
The 2011 Regional League Division 2 (also known as the AIS League for sponsorship reasons) was the 6th season of the Regional League Division 2, it had redirected from the division 2, since its establishment in 2006. The 77 clubs will be divided into 5 groups (regions). Regional League Championships 2011 was contested by the five regional league winners and runners up of the 3rd level championships of Thailand. The two best 3rd placed teams from the regional leagues also take part Twelve teams were split into two groups of A & B, with the top two teams from group A & B gaining promotion to the Thai 1st Division for the 2012 campaign, along with this, the two group winners would play off to determine the overall champions. Rayong ( th, ระยอง, ) is a city (''thesaban nakhon'') on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and the capital of Rayong province. It covers tambons Tha Pradu and Pak Nam and parts of ''tambons'' Choeng Noen and Noen Phra, all within Mueang Rayong district. As of 2016 the population was 64,256 (est.).
