2012 President's Cup (Maldives)
The 2012 President's Cup was the 62nd season of the President's Cup, a knock-out competition for Maldives' top 4 football clubs. Victory Sports Club were the defending champions, having beaten New Radiant Sports Club 2–1 in last season's Final. The winner of the competition will qualify for the qualifying play-off of the 2013 AFC Cup. The final was held on the 15 October 2012, and was contested at Rasmee Dhandu Stadium between the same finalists of the previous season, New Radiant and Victory. New Radiant won the final 2–1 on penalties, claiming a record ninth President's Cup, after the score was 0-0 after extra time. Rilwan Waheed
Rilwan Waheed is a Maldivian professional footballer. Nicknamed "Riley", he plays as a winger for Club Green Streets and the Maldives national team. Club career Club Valencia 2006 & 2007 season Rilwan signed with Club Valencia at the age of 15 in 2006, but the FAM rules did not allow him to play at senior level football. In the following year 2007, at the age of 16, he started playing in the 1st Division. He made his debut on 30 July 2007 against New Radiant as a substitute in the second half of the match where they won 1–0. Ahmed Thoriq (born 4 October 1980) is a Maldivian retired professional footballer, nicknamed "Tom". Biography He is from the island of Mahibadhoo in Alif Dhaal Atoll. Ali Umar, Commissioner of Sports of Maldives (born 5 August 1980) is a Maldivian former footballer until his retirement in 2013. After he retired, he became a Member of the normalization committee appointed by FIFA to Football Association of Maldives from 2 December 2014 to 31 May 2016. Ali Ashfaq (; born 6 September 1985) is a Maldivian professional footballer who plays as a forward and captains the Maldives national team. Nicknamed "Man of Steel" (), he is regarded as one of the best players in the South Asian region. A prolific and individualistic goalscorer, he is a free-kick specialist and a clinical finisher.
