2012 Pittsburgh Steelers Season
The 2012 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise's 80th season as a member of the National Football League (NFL). It was the 13th season under the leadership of general manager Kevin Colbert and the 6th under head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers failed to improve on their 12–4 record from 2011 and did not reach the postseason for the first time since 2009. After a 6–3 start, the Steelers lost 5 of their last 7 games and finished the season with a record of 8–8, their first non-winning season since 2006. The 2012 Steelers set a new NFL record for the most games decided on the last play, with 6. For the first time since 1997, Hines Ward was not on the team's roster, as he was released in March 2012. AFC North
The American Football Conference – Northern Division or AFC North is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division was adopted after the restructuring of the 2002 NFL season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. This is the only division in the NFL in which no member team has hosted a Super Bowl in their stadiums. Formation The AFC North currently has four members: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Mark Bruener
Mark Frederick Bruener (born September 16, 1972) is a former American football tight end of the National Football League (NFL), and a current college scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers 27th overall in the 1995 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Washington. Bruener played nine seasons with the Steelers followed by five with the Houston Texans. He retired following the 2008 season. He formerly served on the NFL Players Association Executive Committee. Amos Jones
Amos Jones (born December 31, 1959) is an American football coach who is the assistant coach of special projects & situations for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). College playing career Jones played safety and running back at the University of Alabama, under Bear Bryant. He graduated from Alabama with his bachelor's degree in 1982, and later earned a master's degree from Alabama. Jerome Donald Olsavsky (born March 29, 1967) is a former professional American football linebacker and coach in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Playing career Olsavsky was born in the industrial town of Youngstown, Ohio. He gained early recognition as a star football player at Chaney High School and went on to play collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh. Carnell Lake
Carnell Augustino Lake (born July 15, 1967) is an American former professional football player and coach who is the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League (USFL). He was a safety and cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He is a member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He was the cornerbacks coach for the UCLA Bruins under head coach Rick Neuheisel in 2009 before leaving after one season for family reasons. Keith Butler (American Football)
John Keith Butler (born May 16, 1956) is a former American football coach and linebacker. He played for the National Football League (NFL)'s Seattle Seahawks for ten years and retired after the 1987 Seattle Seahawks season, 1987 season. Butler spent 23 years coaching in the NFL. Dick LeBeau
Charles Richard "Dick" LeBeau ( ; born September 9, 1937) is a former American football cornerback and coach in the National Football League (NFL). He was active with the NFL for 59 consecutive seasons, 14 as a player with the Detroit Lions and 45 as a coach. LeBeau spent the majority of his coaching career as a defensive assistant, most notably as the defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Described as an "innovator" and "defensive football genius", he is considered to be one of the greatest defensive coordinators of all time. Sean Patrick Kugler (born August 9, 1966) is an American football coach and former run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) from 2013 to 2017. James Daniel
James Daniel (born January 17, 1953) is a former American football coach. He most recently served as the tight ends coach for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. Biography College career Daniel was a 4-year letter winner playing offensive guard at Alabama State University. Coaching career Daniel began his coaching career as an offensive line coach at Enterprise High School from 1974–1980 after graduating from Alabama State. Scottie Austin Montgomery (born May 26, 1978) is an American football coach for the Indianapolis Colts He most recently was the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland. Randy Fichtner
Randy Fichtner (born November 7, 1963) is an American football coach. He spent 14 seasons as part of the Pittsburgh Steelers' coaching staff from 2007 to 2020. He most recently served as their offensive coordinator, a position he held for three seasons.
