The 2012 WNBA season is the 16th season for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association. Corey Gaines
Corey Yasuto Gaines (born June 1, 1965) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He played five seasons in the NBA, and was a four-time Israeli Basketball Premier League Statistical Leaders#Assists leaders, Israeli Premier League Assists Leader, in 1999 and in 2001 to 2003. He was also a former head coach of the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Professional career Gaines was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 3rd round (65th overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft. Andrea Riley
Andrea Riley (born July 22, 1988) is an American professional basketball player, most recently with the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted 8th overall in the 2010 WNBA draft by the Sparks. Riley played collegiately for the Oklahoma State Cowgirls. As a senior in 2009–10, she was selected as the Nancy Lieberman Award winner, which is given annually the nation's best NCAA female point guard. Earl Cureton
Earl Cureton (born September 3, 1957) is an American retired professional basketball player. His nickname was "The Twirl". Amateur career Cureton played high school basketball at Finney High School in Detroit, and signed to play college basketball with Robert Morris, playing there for one season (1976–77), averaging a double-double of 17.2 ppg and 10.5 rpg, before electing to return home to play for the University of Detroit. Cureton sat out a year with the transfer but paired with future NBA player Terry Duerod to lead the Titans to the 1979 NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament, losing to Lamar 95-87 in the first round. Alexis Amber Gray-Lawson (born April 21, 1987) is a basketball player who most recently played for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association. The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded for the 2008 WNBA season. The team is owned by real estate investors Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and former Dream player Renee Montgomery.
