2012 Monza Superbike World Championship Round
The 2012 Monza Superbike World Championship round was the fourth round of the 2012 Superbike World Championship season and of the 2012 Supersport World Championship season. It took place on the weekend of May 4–6, 2012 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza located in Monza, Italy. Superbike Report At this round the championship held an awards ceremony marking their 25th anniversary, this however would be a round full of incident, the conditions were changeable throughout the weekend, and during a wet superpole riders were unable to make their wet tyres last more than 2 laps due to the tyres falling apart down the center due to the high speed nature of the Monza circuit. The race started dry but Mark Aitchison fell at the final turn on the warm up lap then John Hopkins and Marco Melandri, would also go down at the final turn. Autodromo Nazionale Monza
The Monza Circuit ( it, Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, , National Automobile Racetrack of Monza) is a race track near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. Built in 1922, it was the world's third purpose-built motor racing circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis and the oldest in mainland Europe. The circuit's biggest event is the Italian Grand Prix. With the exception of the 1980 running, the race has been hosted there since 1949. Built in the Royal Villa of Monza park in a woodland setting, the site has three tracks – the Grand Prix track, the Junior track, and a high speed oval track with steep bankings which was left unused for decades and had been decaying until it was restored in the 2010s. The Aprilia RSV4 is a super bike manufactured by Aprilia. The RSV4 is Aprilia's flagship model. Aprilia offers two models of the bike: the RSV4 Factory and RSV4 R limited edition (only 350). For 2016 it is offered in two models the RSV4 RR and RSV4 RF. The 2016 updated bike was made to take advantage of and comply with that year's Superbike rules which allow fewer modifications for production bikes. Lorenzo Demetrio Zanetti (born 10 August 1987) is an Italian motorcycle racer. He currently races in the CIV Superbike Championship, aboard a Ducati 1199 Panigale. Chaz Davies
Chaz Davies (born 10 February 1987 in Knighton, Powys, Wales), is a former motorcycle racer who announced his retirement from competition in September 2021. Hiroshi Aoyama
is a Japanese retired Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, and current team principal of Honda Team Asia. Aoyama is best known for winning the 2009 250cc World Championship title. He is the older brother of former 250cc and World Superbike rider, Shuhei Aoyama. In his six seasons in the 250cc World Championship, he raced Honda and KTM machinery in an Aprilia-dominated class. He took nine victories and never finished lower than seventh overall. Jakub 'Kuba' Smrž (born 7 April 1983 in České Budějovice, Czechoslovakia) is a professional motorcycle road racer. He currently competes in the Superbike World Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1.
