2012 Milwaukee Brewers Season
The Milwaukee Brewers' 2012 season was the 43rd season for the franchise in Milwaukee, the 15th in the National League, and 44th overall. The Brewers finished the season with an 83–79 record and third place in the Central Division of the National League. They did not make the playoffs. The Brewers struck out 10 or more opposing batters in each of eight consecutive games between August 20 and August 28, the longest such streak in MLB history as of 2016. National League Central
The National League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was created in 1994, by moving two teams from the National League West (the Cincinnati Reds and the Houston Astros) and three teams from the National League East (the Chicago Cubs, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the St. Louis Cardinals). When the division was created in 1994, the Pirates were originally supposed to stay in the East while the Atlanta Braves were to be moved to the Central from the West. However, the Braves, wanting to form a natural rivalry with the expansion Florida Marlins, requested to remain in the East. Despite the Marlins offering to go to the Central, the Pirates instead gave up their spot in the East to the Braves. Since then, the Pirates have tried several times unsuccessfully to be placed back in the East. The National League of Professional Baseball Clubs, known simply as the National League (NL), is the older of two leagues constituting Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States and Canada, and the world's oldest extant professional team sports league. Mike McClendon (baseball)
Michael Melton McClendon (born April 3, 1985) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers from 2010-2012. Career Milwaukee Brewers McClendon was drafted by the Brewers in the 10th round of the 2006 amateur entry draft out of Seminole State College of Florida in Sanford, FL after two seasons under head coach Mike Nicholson. In 2006, he made his professional debut for the Rookie League Helena Brewers. In 2007, he was promoted to the Class A West Virginia Power, and then the Class A-Advanced Brevard County Manatees. McClendon played the entire 2008 season with the Manatees. In 2009, he was promoted to the Double-A Huntsville Stars. Shaun Marcum
Shaun Michal Marcum (born December 14, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Cleveland Indians. In 2015, he became the pitching coach for the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers. He joined the Missouri Southern Lions as their pitching coach in August 2016. Brandon Lee Kintzler (born August 1, 1984) is an American professional baseball relief pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, and Philadelphia Phillies. James Duffy Henderson (born October 21, 1982) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher and current bullpen coach for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Michael Bruce Fiers (; born June 15, 1985) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics.
