2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly election was held in Indian state of Manipur in Feb-March 2012, to elect 60 members to the Manipur Legislative Assembly. Results The Voter turnout was 79.19%. Congress won majority of the seats. Incumbent Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was re-elected for the post. In 2014, the Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) merged with the Indian National Congress which raised the number of INC MLAs to 47. Okram Ibobi Singh
Okram Ibobi Singh (born 19 June 1948) is an Indian Politician who was the Chief Ministers of Manipur, Chief Minister of Manipur from 2002 to 2017. In 2012, he helped his party win the state election for the third time with an absolute majority securing 42 out of the total 60 assembly seats, brushing aside anti-incumbency factor once again. He is a member of the Indian National Congress. In 2017 Assembly Elections, Okram Ibobi Singh defeated Leitanthem Basanta Singh and Irom Chanu Sharmila, Irom Sharmila. Early life Okram Ibobi Singh was born to Okram Angoubi and Lukamani Devi to a Meitei people, Meitei Hindu family at Athokpam, Thoubal district. Naga People's Front
The Naga People's Front (NPF) is a regional political party in Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh . Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh
Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh, also known as Sapam Keba, (born 1 January 1959) is a politician from the Indian state of Manipur. He is the sitting MLA representing Patsoi Assembly Constituency in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly. He represented the Patsoi assembly constituency during 2007–2012 in the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly. Rashtriya Janata Dal
The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: ''National People's Party'') is an Indian political party, based in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Kerala. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lok Janshakti Party
The Lok Janshakti Party ( LJP, "People’s Manpower Party") was a state political party mainly based in the state of Bihar, India. The party was formed in 2000 when Ram Vilas Paswan split from Janata Dal. The party had a considerable following amongst Dalits in Bihar. National People's Party (India)
The National People's Party is a national-level political party in India, though its influence is mostly concentrated in the state of Meghalaya. The party was founded by P. A. Sangma after his expulsion from the NCP in July 2012. It was accorded national party status on 7 June 2019. It is the first political party from Northeastern India to have attained this status.
