The 2012 Kangaroo Cup was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the sixteenth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2012 ITF Women's Circuit. Hardcourt
A hardcourt (or hard court) is a surface or floor on which a sport is played, most usually in reference to tennis courts. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Historically, hardwood surfaces were also in use in indoor settings, similar to an indoor basketball court, but these surfaces are rare now. Tennis Tennis hard courts are made of synthetic/acrylic layers on top of a concrete or asphalt foundation and can vary in color. Kurumi Nara
is a Japanese former professional tennis player. She has won one singles title on the WTA Tour, as well as six singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 18 August 2014, she reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 32. On 2 May 2016, she peaked at No. 109 in the WTA doubles rankings. Sun Shengnan (; ; born 21 January 1987) is a Chinese former tennis player. Her highest WTA singles ranking is 216th, which she reached on 4 April 2011. Her career high in doubles is 50th, which she reached on 17 September 2007. Chan Chin-wei (, born 8 January 1985) is a former professional tennis player from Taiwan. She won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, along with six singles and 49 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. She reached her best singles ranking of world No. 152 in October 2006. Noppawan "Nok" Lertcheewakarn ( th, นพวรรณ เลิศชีวกานต์; born 18 November 1991) is a former professional Thai tennis player. At 2009 Wimbledon Championships, she won the junior singles title.
