2012 Jacksonville Jaguars
The 2012 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's 18th season in the National Football League. It was the first under the new ownership of Shahid Khan and the first and only season for head coach Mike Mularkey. The Jaguars entered the season hoping to improve on their 5–11 record from 2011 and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, but did not and were eliminated from postseason contention. This season marked the third time in the last five seasons in which the Jaguars finished fourth in the AFC South. The Jaguars finished with a 2–14 record, not only tying the Kansas City Chiefs for the league's worst record of 2012, but it would also be the worst in franchise history until the team went 1–15 in 2020. Their 1–7 record at home was also their worst home record in team history. Mike Mularkey
Michael Rene Mularkey (born November 19, 1961) is a former American football coach and tight end in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Florida, and was drafted in the ninth round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and lasted until the final round of cuts. Mularkey then signed with the Minnesota Vikings with whom he played for six seasons before playing another three with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mularkey has since served as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans, the offensive coordinator for the Steelers, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons, and the tight ends coach for the Dolphins, Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Falcons. Lucas Patrick McCown (born July 12, 1981) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. Michael Thomas (born June 4, 1987) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Arizona. Early years Thomas attended DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas. Courtney Greene (born November 23, 1986 in New Rochelle, New York) is a former American football safety. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2009 NFL Draft and played three seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at Rutgers. He played college football at Troy, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. Chastin Jareaux West (born May 1, 1987 in Inglewood, California) is a former American football wide receiver. He was signed by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Ashton Youboty (born July 7, 1984), is a Liberian-American football coach and former cornerback, who is the current cornerbacks coach at Purdue. Abdul-Gafar Olatokumbo Ayodeji Lamar "Deji" Karim ( ; born November 18, 1986) is a former American football running back. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2010 NFL Draft.
