2012 Holland Ladies Tour
The 15th edition of the annual Holland Ladies Tour was held from September 4 to September 9, 2012. The women's stage race with an UCI rating of 2.2 started in Neerijnen, and ended in Berg en Terblijt. The Holland Ladies Tour 2012 had financial problems due to sponsoring problems. Their sponsor quit and it was unsure if the Tour would be organized in 2012. The organization initially decided to organize the tour without a new sponsor, before signing a sponsorship contract with Dutch hairdressing salon chain BrainWash and renaming the 15th edition of the race the BrainWash Ladies Tour. Marianne Vos
Marianne Vos (; born 13 May 1987) is a Dutch multi-discipline cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . After winning a junior European and World Championship in road racing, she continued her success in senior cycling by becoming World Champion in cyclo-cross and road racing at the age of 19. Vos added track racing World Championships when she won the points race in 2008 and the scratch race in 2011. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she won the gold medal in the points race; at the 2012 Summer Olympics, gold in the women's road race. Amber Neben
Amber Leone Neben (born February 18, 1975) is an American racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Women's Continental Team . Neben won the UCI world time trial championship in 2008 and 2016 as well as the U.S. national road race championship in 2003 and 2017. Career Early life At the age of four Neben survived a bout of spinal meningitis, which left her in a coma for three days. Doctors told her parents that she was unlikely to survive, and that if she did, she would probably have endured brain damage and have lost her hearing. Neben played soccer and ran cross-country in junior high and high school. She attended the University of Nebraska on a track and cross-country scholarship. Annemiek van Vleuten (born 8 October 1982) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Van Vleuten is a two-time winner of both the road race (2019 and 2022) and the time trial (2017 and 2018) at the UCI Road World Championships. Tatiana Andreyevna Antoshina (born 27 July 1982) is a Russian road bicycle racer. Career She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's road race, finishing 25th, and in the time trial, finishing 12th. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (born 10 February 1992) is a French multi-discipline bicycle racer, who rides for UCI Elite Mountain Bike team BMC MTB Racing in cross-country cycling. and has signed for Ineos Grenadiers for 2023. Iris Slappendel (born 18 February 1985) is a Dutch former road racing cyclist. Career She won the 2012 Open de Suède Vårgårda road race, the penultimate event in the 2012 UCI Women's Road World Cup. Slappendel took a total of five UCI race victories in her career, including the GP Comune di Cornaredo and stages of the Thüringen Rundfahrt der Frauen, the Ster Zeeuwsche Eilanden and La Route de France. Melissa Hoskins (born 24 February 1991) is an Australian former track and road racing cyclist. She topped the general classification in the 2012 Tour of Chongming Island. Loes Gunnewijk (born 27 November 1980 in Groenlo) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2015. Gunnewijk was a member of the Dutch national team together with Ellen van Dijk, Marianne Vos and Annemiek van Vleuten in the road race at the 2012 Summer Olympics where Vos won the gold medal. Gunnewijk announced her retirement from the sport in May 2015, subsequently completing the Union Cycliste Internationale's Sports Directors Diploma course in November 2015.
