2012 FIA GT1 Algarve Round
The 2012 FIA GT1 Algarve round was an auto racing event held on 7–8 July 2012 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal. It was the fifth round of the 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship season for grand tourer racing cars complying with GT1 and GT3 regulations. The event consisted of two races, the Qualifying Race and the Championship Race, each of which lasted one hour. The Qualifying Race took place on 7 June and was won by the All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport pairing of Markus Winkelhock and Marc Basseng. The Championship race was held the following day and saw Thomas Jäger and Nicky Pastorelli take victory, also driving for All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport. Darryl Hayden O'Young () is a Canadian-born Hong Kong racing driver. Career Early career O'Young began racing in 1988 at the age of eight. Trained by his father he honed his driving skills in karting winning numerous championships. The highlight of his karting career was becoming Canadian National Champion and USA National Champion in the same year. Álvaro Parente
Álvaro Parente (born 4 October 1984) is a Portuguese professional racing driver. Career Early career After winning the Karting European Junior Championship in 1998, Porto-born Parente made his debut in auto racing in 2001 at the age of 16, driving in the Spanish F3 Championship. In the following year, he was integrated into the Team Portugal project and scored a win on his way to 4th place in the series. Hexis Racing is an auto racing team based in Lédenon, France. Hexis Racing was founded by Michel Mateu, CEO of Hexis S.A. in 2001, initially for participation in the French Formula Renault Championship. Grégoire Demoustier (born 26 January 1991 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq) is a French racing driver, who competes in the World Touring Car Championship for Sébastien Loeb Racing. Career Demoustier began his career in 2008, competing in the THP Spider Cup and the Mitjet Series. In 2009 he debuted in single-seaters, racing in Formula BMW Europe. Frank Stippler (born 9 April 1975) is a German professional racing driver. He has competed in such series as Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, Rolex Sports Car Series and the Swedish Touring Car Championship. He won both the Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany series in 2003. He is also very successful in historic racing.
