2012 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2012 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Serbia from 4 to 16 December. Originally the tournament was scheduled to be held in the Netherlands but on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation withdrew from the organization. Subsequently, the European Handball Federation (EHF) launched a new bidding process and eventually selected Serbia as the new host on 18 June 2012. Montenegro captured their first title by defeating defending champion Norway 34–31 in the final. Host selection Initially on its meeting on 27 September 2008 the EHF awarded the championship to the Netherlands, beating the bids of Germany and Serbia. This could have been the second time for Netherlands to host the tournament, however, on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation announced they are unable to organize the European Championship. Katarina Bulatović
Katarina Bulatović (born 15 November 1984) is a retired Montenegrin handball player that played the right back position. Career Internationally she represented Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia, before opting to play for Montenegro in 2011. She was third best goalscorer of the EHF Women's Champions League in the three editions, 2010–11, 2011–12, 2013–14. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where the Montenegrin team won the silver medal, and Bulatović was top scorer with 53 goals and also voted into the All-star team. She has also competed at the 2012 European Women's Handball Championship, where the Montenegrin team won the gold medal, and Bulatović was top scorer with 56 goals and also voted into the All-star team. Bulatović was selected for the shortlist of the 2012 IHF World Player of the Year award, and eventually came fourth by collecting 12 percent of the total votes. The 1994 EHF European Women's Handball Championship was held in Germany from 17–25 September. It was won by Denmark after beating Germany 27–23 in the final match. 2010 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2010 EHF European Men's Handball Championship (9th tournament) was held in Austria from 19 to 31 January, in the cities of Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, Linz and Wiener Neustadt. Venues 5 Austrian cities have been selected to host the 2010 Championship. The venues in Linz, Graz and Wiener Neustadt were only used during the #Preliminary round, preliminary round. The fourth venue to be used in this round was located in Innsbruck, and was also one of the two venues in the #Main round, main round. The other being Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, which was the only venue to be used in the #Final round, final round. Qualification Qualification matches were played in 2008 and in 2009. SPC Vojvodina
SPC Vojvodina ( sr-cyr, СПЦ Војводина), short for Sports and Business Center Vojvodina ( sr, Спортски и пословни центар Војводина, Sportski i poslovni centar Vojvodina), commonly referred to as SPENS ( sr-cyr, СПЕНС), is a multi-purpose venue located in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. History Its construction started in 1979, based on the design documentation produced by the Institute of Architecture, Urbanism and Spatial Planning, at the University of Sarajevo.
