The 2012 European Karate Championships, the 47th edition, were held in Adeje, Tenerife, Spain from 10 to 13 May 2012. A total of 450 competitors from 45 countries participated at the event. Adeje
Adeje is a town and municipality in the southwestern part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. The town Adeje is located 4 km from the coast, 8 km north of the resort town Los Cristianos, 60 km southwest of the island capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife and about 17 km northwest of Tenerife South Airport. Jonathan Horne (born 17 January 1989) is a German karateka. At the 2018 World Karate Championships in Madrid, Spain, he won the gold medal in the men's +84 kg event. He represented Germany at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He also won the gold medal in his event on seven occasions at the European Karate Championships, most recently at the 2021 European Karate Championships held in Poreč, Croatia. Rafael Mahir Aghayev ( az, Rafael Ağayev; born March 4, 1985, in Sumqayit, Azerbaijan SSR) is an Azerbaijani karateka. He won the silver medal in the men's kumite 75 kg division at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He is a five-time world champion, and eleven-time European champion in his discipline. Aghayev is currently signed by Karate Combat and is 4-0.
