2012 European Cross Country Championships
The 2012 European Cross Country Championships was the 19th edition of the cross country running competition for European athletes which was held in Szentendre, Hungary on 9 December. Andrea Lalli of Italy won the men's title to become the country's first ever champion at the competition. The men's team race was won by Spain. Fionnuala Britton was the winner in the senior women's race, becoming the first woman to retain her title. Team Ireland took gold in the senior women's race. Carles Castillejo Salvador (born August 18, 1978 in Barcelona) is a Spanish long distance runner. He has won Spanish national titles in the 5000 m, the 10,000 m and the marathon. He has represented Spain at the Olympics on four occasions (2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). Biography He made his first international appearances for Spain in 2004. Tom Humphries is a former sports journalist and columnist who wrote for ''The Irish Times'' while volunteering at a North Dublin Gaelic games club. His career as a leading sportswriter was ended after his history of child sexual abuse emerged in 2011. Andy Vernon
Andrew James Vernon (born 7 January 1986) is a British long-distance runner who specialised in the 5000 metres, the 10,000metres on track and cross country running. After the 2018 commonwealth games and started to concentrate on the roads winning Manchester Half Marathon with the aim of doing a full marathon in 2019.
