2012 China Masters Super Series
The 2012 China Masters Super Series was the seventh super series tournament of the 2012 BWF Super Series. The tournament was held in Changzhou, China from September 11–16, 2012 and had a total purse of $400,000. The draw was released on August 28, 2012. BWF Super Series
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end. BWF announced a new tournament structure in March 2017, BWF World Tour together with the new hosts for 2018–2021 cycle to replace this Super Series tournaments. Liew Daren
Liew Daren (born 6 August 1987) is a Malaysian badminton player. His biggest success to date is having won the 2012 French Open Super Series. He reached a career high ranking of World No.10. He also represented Malaysia competed at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Early life Liew was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was educated at the Taman Midah Primary School. He began playing badminton at the age of seven. His brother was once a national badminton player. Liew started to play badminton professionally in 1998. Career During the 2012 Thomas Cup quarter-final, he was defeated by Lin Dan from China, but not before he brought it into a rubber game of 21–17, 9–21 and 5–21. Derek Wong
Derek Wong (born Wong Zi Liang, traditional Chinese: 黃梓良, 13 January 1989) is a retired Singaporean badminton player. Wong is a two-time Olympian, who took part at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, where he was flag bearer in the latter's Parade of Nations. Early life Wong was born on 13 January 1989, in Singapore, to parents Wong Shoon Keat and Irene Lee. He grew up in a badminton-loving family with three other brothers (Shawn, Jamie and Jason). Both his parents are former national champions and they own a badminton shop at the old Singapore Badminton Hall. Wong started playing badminton, at age 5 when his father took him to the hall to play badminton for the first time. Sourabh Verma (born 30 December 1992) is an Indian badminton player. He is a three time men's singles title Champion at the Indian National Championships. Verma reached a career high world ranking of no. 28 in December 2019. Career overview Sourabh Verma started his career in badminton at the young age introduced by his father Sudhir Verma. Chong Wei Feng
Chong Wei Feng (born 26 May 1987) is a Malaysian retired badminton player. He was drafted into the national team in 2004. His best achievement is reaching the semi-finals of the 2012 and 2013 China Open, where he was defeated by Chen Long on both occasions. Background Chong was born on 26 May 1987 in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Chong started playing badminton at the age of nine, where he went to a private coaching centre. Brice Leverdez (born 9 April 1986) is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships. Career Leverdez started playing badminton at aged 12, and continued after that at the club, then in 2008, he joined France national badminton team. is a male Japanese badminton player from the Unisys team. He was the victor of the final match against Malaysia over Liew Daren in the 2014 Thomas Cup, which saw Japan win the tournament for the first time and in their debut final. Rajah Menuri Venkata Gurusaidutt or R. M. V. Gurusaidutt or Gurusai Dutt born (on 1 March 1990) to RMV Bharadwaj and RM Anjana is a badminton player from India. Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games.
