2012 Campeonato Amazonense
The 2012 Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol was the 96th season of the top professional football league in Amazonas, Brazil. The competition began on January 28 and ended on May 26. Nacional won the championship for the 41st time, while CDC Manicoré and Operário were relegated. Format The tournament consists of a double round-robin format, in which all twelve teams play each other twice, with classification split in two stages. Each round counts as one stage. The four better-placed teams of each stage will face themselves in playoffs matches, and the first stage champion will face the second stage champion. If the same team win both stages, it will be considered the champion. The bottom two teams on overall classification will be relegated. The Campeonato Amazonense, officially Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol Profissional, is the football championship for professional clubs of the state of Amazonas, Brazil. Format The 2021 Campeonato Amazonense is divided into two stages: First Stage *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. The worst two teams of the stage are relegated to the second division, while the other eight teams advance to the second stage. Second Stage *The best teams play a two-legged knockout stage, with the best placed team of the match having the second leg at home. The winner of the Finals is declared the champion. As in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year. Itacoatiara, Amazonas
Itacoatiara is a municipality in the central eastern portion of state of Amazonas, inland northern Brazil. It is 176 km east by air or 270 km downstream by river from Manaus. It is the third most populous town in the state, on the bank of the Amazon River. Its population was 102,701 (2020) and its area is 8,600 km².
