The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. A compass rose is primarily composed of four cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—each separated by 90 degrees, and secondarily divided by four ordinal (intercardinal) directions—northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest—each located halfway between two cardinal directions. Syracuse Orange Women's Ice Hockey
Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Syracuse University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and College Hockey America (CHA) since the 2008–09 season. Syracuse plays its home games at Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion in Syracuse, New York. History 2008–09 Season On March 6, 2008, it was announced that the Orange would join College Hockey America. Syracuse was the fifth school to join the conference for women's hockey. An aurora (plural: auroras or aurorae), also commonly known as the polar lights, is a natural light display in Earth's sky, predominantly seen in high-latitude regions (around the Arctic and Antarctic). Auroras display dynamic patterns of brilliant lights that appear as curtains, rays, spirals, or dynamic flickers covering the entire sky. Auroras are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by the solar wind. Manitoba Maple Leafs
The Manitoba Maple Leafs were a professional women's ice hockey team in the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL). The team played its home games at the MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg, Canada. History The team joined the WWHL on June 5, 2010. Its team president was Bryon Stephen. The franchise was in partnership with the Winnipeg Métis Federation to provide an opportunity to participate in ice hockey for players from all ethnic backgrounds. In preparation for its first season, a selection camp took place in September, 2010 for the beginning by the season on October 29 in front of Minnesota Whitecaps. The opening match at home was November 5 and the first victory of the history of Maple Leafs took place on Sunday, November 7 which ended with a 5-2 score over the Edmonton Chimos. Jocelyne Larocque
Jocelyne Dawn Marie Larocque (born May 19, 1988) is a Canadian ice hockey player and current independent member of the PWHPA. She previously played with the Calgary Inferno and Markham Thunder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), the Calgary Oval X-Treme and Manitoba Maple Leafs of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL), and the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). With the Bulldogs, she was a two-time NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Tournament champion (2008, 2010). The Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team is the hockey team that represents the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. History On October 8, 1999, the Bulldogs played the Wisconsin Badgers in the first ever Women's WCHA conference game at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. It was the highest attended game of the season (3,892) and resulted in an 8–1 defeat of the Badgers. In 2006, the Wisconsin Badgers became the first team outside the state of Minnesota to win the Women's Frozen Four championship. Concordia Stingers Women's Ice Hockey
The Concordia Stingers women's ice hockey program represents Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec in the sport of ice hockey in the RSEQ conference of U Sports. Boston Terriers Women's Ice Hockey
The Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey represent Boston University. The Terriers play in the Hockey East conference. From 2010 to 2015, the Terriers won five Hockey East Championships and made six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. History 2020-2021 Hockey East announced plans in November for a modified season, due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic. Teams will each play 18 games in a round robin format to determine the regular season champion. Kasey Boucher (born October 25, 1990) is a women's ice hockey player and an alumnus of the North American Hockey Academy. Currently, she competes for the Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey program. Playing career NCAA Boucher appeared in 34 games in her freshman season (2008–09) and accumulated six points (all assists). For the season, she earned a +5 rating.
