The 2012 BB&T Atlanta Open was a professional men's tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the 25th edition of the tournament which was part of the 2012 ATP World Tour. It took place at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, United States between July 16 and July 22, 2012. It was the men's first event of the 2012 US Open Series. ATP Tour 250
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. Alex Bogomolov Jr
Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Bogomolov Jr. (russian: Александр Александрович «Алекс» Богомолов; born April 23, 1983), nicknamed Bogie, is a Russian-American retired professional tennis player. Tennis career Bogomolov's father, Alex Sr., was a former Soviet national tennis coach who worked with Larisa Neiland, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, and Andrei Medvedev. Born in Moscow, Russia, the 5' 10" Bogomolov was the no. 1 ranked USTA player for the 18s section in 200 and had a career-high ranking of world no. 33 on October 31, 2011. In 1998, Bogomolov won the United States Tennis Association, USTA National Boys' 16 Championships, defeating Andy Roddick in the final. He was the first player to be beaten by David Nalbandian in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament, at the 2001 US Open. Santiago González Torre (; born 24 February 1983) is a Mexican professional tennis player. His career-high ATP ranking is World No. 155 in singles, achieved in May 2006, and World No. 22 in doubles, achieved in March 2022. He has won 18 ATP doubles titles. Ross Hutchins
Ross Dan Hutchins (born 22 February 1985) is a retired British professional tennis player, known best as a doubles player, who achieved a highest doubles ranking of 26. He competed for England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi where he won silver partnering Ken Skupski in the Men's Doubles event. Having turned professional in 2002, he enjoyed success on the Challenger circuit and broke through to the ATP Tour in late 2007. Colin Fleming
Colin Fleming (born 13 August 1984) is a British retired professional tennis player who specialised in doubles. As part of the Davis Cup team, he won eight successive doubles matches to help Great Britain into the World Group. He also won his doubles match in the World Group quarter final against Italy. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won the mixed doubles gold medal with Jocelyn Rae for Scotland. He has reached nineteen ATP Tour doubles finals in his career, winning eight of them: two in 2009, 2012 and 2013 and one in 2011 and 2015. Sergei Sergeevich Bubka ( uk, Сергій Сергійович Бубка; born 10 February 1987) is a Ukrainian former professional tennis player. He was a member of the Ukraine Davis Cup team and was coached by Tibor Toth, who is also the former coach of Sergiy Stakhovsky. Bubka is the son of pole vaulter Sergey Bubka. On 1 November 2012, Sergei Bubka was seriously injured in a fall from the third floor of an apartment building in Paris. He returned to play tennis in February 2014. Ričardas Berankis
Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian citizen (not counting Lithuanian American Vitas Gerulaitis) to enter the ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Berankis has reached two finals on the ATP World Tour, at the Los Angeles Open in 2012 and Kremlin Cup in 2017. He is also a prominent member of the Lithuania Davis Cup team. Ruben Bemelmans (; born 14 January 1988) is a Belgian former professional tennis player.
