2012 ARCA Racing Series Season
The 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards was the 60th season of the ARCA Racing Series. The season began on February 18 with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 and ended on October 19 with the Kansas ARCA 150. Chris Buescher won the championship over Frank Kimmel by 75 points after a heated battle. Alex Bowman was named Rookie of the Year after battling Brennan Poole all season. Darrell Basham
Darrell Basham (born March 17, 1949) is an American stock car racing driver and team owner. He currently competes in the ARCA Racing Series, driving the No. 34 Chevrolet for Darrell Basham Racing. Racing career ARCA Racing Series Basham made his ARCA Racing Series debut in 1972. In 1975, Basham posted a career-best finish of fifth twice, both times at Salem Speedway. One year later, he finished a career-best seventh place in the standings. After driving sporadically over the next two decades, Basham began racing full-time again in 2002. The next season, Basham won the Spirit Award for his dedication and support for ARCA, uplifting spirit by way of example, perseverance, and positive attitude. Jeremy Petty
Jeremy Petty (born August 31, 1982) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently works as a crew chief on the No. 7 car in the ARCA Menards Series for driver Eric Caudell and his team, CCM Racing. Petty previously competed in the ARCA Series as a driver, including running one full season in 2009 for Hixson Motorsports. He also made one attempt in both the NASCAR Nationwide and Truck Series. He currently operates Wayne Peterson Racing, a team in the ARCA Menards Series. Military career Peterson grew up in a poor family in Boaz, Alabama, and when he was 15 years old, his high school was visited by Army National Guard recruiters. Attracted by the benefits of food and clothing, he enlisted and entered active duty at 16, but was sent back to school upon discovering his age. Korbin Forrister
Robert Korbin Forrister (born November 16, 1992) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, driving the Nos. 7 and 17 Toyota Tundras for All Out Motorsports. In January 2021, he got caught for talking to minors inappropriately and since then, he hasn't made a single NASCAR start. Will Kimmel
Will Kimmel III (born May 11, 1988) is an American stock car racing driver. He is the son of Bill Kimmel, Jr. and nephew of Frank Kimmel. He currently competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series for family-owned Kimmel Racing. He formerly competed in the NASCAR Cup Series for Go Fas Racing. Career Kimmel began his racing career in 1998; in 2006 he began competing at Salem Speedway, winning the track's Rookie of the Year award for Super Late Model drivers. James Hylton
James Harvey Hylton (August 26, 1934 – April 28, 2018) was an American stock car racing driver. He was a two-time winner in NASCAR Winston Cup Series competition and was a long-time competitor in the ARCA Racing Series. Hylton finished second in points in NASCAR's top series three times. He holds the record for highest points finish by a rookie. Although Hylton had only two wins at the Cup level, he collected 140 top 5s and 301 top 10s in 601 races. Hylton was in the championship hunt several times in the 1960s and 1970s, finishing second in points in 1966, 1967, and 1971. Brad Smith Motorsports (formerly known as Hylton Engineering and James Hylton Motorsports) is a former NASCAR and current ARCA race team. It was one of the oldest professional race teams in the United States, running from 1964 to 1994; 1997–99; 2001–2018. The team won two NASCAR Winston Cup Series races with James Hylton driving, the 1970 Richmond 500 and the 1972 Talladega 500. The team ran for many years in the Winston Cup before closing in 1995. Nick Tucker
Nicholas Tucker (born August 26, 1985) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He currently owns Trans-Am Series team Nitro Motorsports and as a driver most recently competed in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in 2021. Career Tucker began racing at age five, starting out by racing flat track four-wheelers and go-karts. At age 14, he came to the point where he had to move up to racing late models to advance his career. However, because of Washington state regulations, he could not compete in those cars in his home state. Donnie Neuenberger
Donnie Neuenberger (born August 10, 1962) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Neuenberger is a cancer survivor. During the 2004 season, he was diagnosed after nerves were pinched by the tumor during a race. Racing career NASCAR Nationwide Series Neuenberger made his Busch Series debut at Lowe's Motor Speedway in fall 2002. With his alma mater, the University of Maryland, College Park on the No. 77 Moy Racing Ford, he started in 41st and finished 26th.
