2012 15U Baseball World Championship
The 2012 15U Baseball World Championship was the first under-15 international baseball competition held in Chihuahua, Mexico, from August 16 to August 26, 2012. Teams The tournament was slated to include 16 teams from across the world as three groups have been formed. After Colombia and Uganda withdrew from the competition, IBAF swapped Honduras and Argentina. Due to the non-appearance of Bahamas, the organizers updated the schedule. ' Chinese Taipei is the official IBAF designation for the team representing the state officially referred to as the Republic of China, more commonly known as Taiwan. 15U Baseball World Championship
The U-15 Baseball World Cup is the 15-and-under baseball world championship that features national teams as authorized ("sanctioned") by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). It began in 1989 as the World Youth Baseball Championship. In 2012 it became the 15U Baseball World Cup and is contested every two years. Because it is a world championship event, the results of the 15U Baseball World Cup affect the WBSC World Rankings. The 15U Baseball World Cup is the pinnacle of baseball in this youth category. Like the 12U Baseball World Cup, the 15U Baseball World Cup is the only world championship across all of sport to feature national teams in its age group, with the best young baseball players in the world selected to represent their countries, unlike other youth international competitions like the Little League World Series, which involve local clubs and have limitations imposed on the selection of players. Winning Percentage
In sports, a winning percentage is the fraction of games or matches a team or individual has won. The statistic is commonly used in standings or rankings to compare teams or individuals. It is defined as wins divided by the total number of matches played (i.e. wins plus draws plus losses). Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua
Cuauhtémoc (; Mennonite Low German: ''Cuauhtemoc-Staut'') is a city located in the west-central part of the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Cuauhtémoc. The city lies 103 km (64 mi) west of the state capital of Chihuahua. Hidalgo del Parral is a city and seat of the municipality of Hidalgo del Parral in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Mercy Rule
A mercy rule, slaughter rule, knockout rule, or skunk rule ends a two-competitor sports competition earlier than the scheduled endpoint if one competitor has a very large and presumably insurmountable scoring lead over the other.
