The 2011–12 season was the 132nd season of competitive football by Rangers. Overview Rangers played a total of 45 competitive matches during the 2011–12 season. Smith's deputy and Rangers record goalscorer Ally McCoist was appointed manager of the club. However, McCoist was hampered by a bizarre transfer policy the club utilised under Whyte's control. This resulted in protracted transfer negotiations with several targets but without significant recruitment and this probably contributed to Rangers being knocked out of both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League by the end of August, depriving the club of income that may have been anticipated. With the new ownership there initially appeared to be some financial stability of the club. Steven Davis
Steven Davis (born 1 January 1985) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Rangers and captains the Northern Ireland national team. Davis made his full international debut in 2005 and has since been capped 140 times, scoring 13 goals, at senior level to become the most capped player in Northern Ireland, and the most capped British player of all time. He captained his nation to the last 16 at UEFA Euro 2016. Davis began his career with Premier League club Aston Villa in 2004. The Old Firm is the collective name for the Scottish football clubs Celtic and Rangers, which are both based in Glasgow. Motherwell ( sco, Mitherwall, gd, Tobar na Màthar) is a town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. The heart is a muscular organ in most animals. This organ pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. Jim Jefferies (footballer)
James Jefferies (born 22 November 1950 in Musselburgh) is a Scottish football manager and former player. Jefferies played for Heart of Midlothian for almost his whole playing career and enjoyed a successful first managerial spell with the club, winning the 1998 Scottish Cup. Jefferies has also managed Gala Fairydean, Berwick Rangers, Falkirk, Bradford City, Kilmarnock and Dunfermline Athletic. Roland Juhász (; born 1 July 1983) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Career MTK Budapest Juhász spent his youth career in Tápiószecső playing for the local club Tápiószecső FC. He started his professional career at the MTK Budapest FC in 1999. Playing 107 Hungarian League matches and scoring 12 goals convinced the Hungary national football team coach to list him in the squad. Juhasz became Hungarian League champion in the 2002–03 season with MTK Budapest. At the end of the 2004–05 season of the Hungarian League, the Belgian club RSC Anderlecht signed him. Anderlecht Juhász signed with Anderlecht on 29 August 2005. He made his debut for the club against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League. Wesley Verhoek () (born 25 September 1986) is a Dutch former professional footballer. He was known as a striker who can also play as a winger on either side of the pitch. He spent most of his professional career at ADO Den Haag at different positions in attack.
