2011–12 Portland Trail Blazers Season
The 2011–12 Portland Trail Blazers season was the 42nd season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Due to the 2011 NBA lockout the regular season was shortened to 66 games. The Trail Blazers finished the season in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 28–38 record. It was the last season with head coach Nate McMillan, who was fired on March and with starting shooting guard Brandon Roy, who announced his retirement. The Trail Blazers also parted ways with their number one pick from the 2007 NBA draft Greg Oden after an injury-marred short career with the team. Nate McMillan
Nathaniel McMillan (born August 3, 1964) is an American basketball coach and former player who serves as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He coached the Seattle SuperSonics from 2000 to 2005, the Portland Trail Blazers from 2005 to 2012, and the Indiana Pacers from 2016 to 2020. He spent his entire 12-year NBA playing career with the SuperSonics, then served as an assistant coach for one-and-a-half years and as head coach for almost five years. His long tenure as a player and coach in Seattle earned him the nickname "Mr. Sonic". Chris Johnson (basketball, Born 1985)
Chris Johnson (born July 17, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Taipei Fubon Braves of the P. League+. He played college basketball for the LSU Tigers before having multiple stints in the NBA between 2011 and 2013. High school and college Born in Washington, D.C., Johnson attended Colonial Beach High School in Westmoreland County, Virginia, where he averaged 22.2 points and 12.5 rebounds in his final season. Wesley Joel Matthews Jr. (born October 14, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Robert Henry "Bob" Ociepka is an American former basketball coach. Early life Ociepka was born in Chicago to an Italian American mother and Polish American father. Ociepka grew up in the West Side district of Chicago. After graduating from St. Mel High School, Ociepka played college basketball at Quincy University. Bernard Tyrone Bickerstaff (born February 11, 1944) is an American basketball coach and front office executive, currently serving as the Senior Basketball Advisor for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
