2011–12 OFC Champions League
The 2011–12 OFC Champions League, also known as the 2012 O-League, was the 11th edition of the Oceanian Club Championship, Oceania's premier club football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), and the 6th season under the current OFC Champions League name. It was contested by eight teams from seven countries. The teams were split into two four-team pools, the winner of each pool contesting the title of O-League Champion and the right to represent the OFC at the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup. The title was won by the defending champions Auckland City. 2010–11 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League
The 2010–11 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season, known as the Telikom NSL Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the fifth edition of Papua New Guinea National Soccer League. The title was won for the fifth consecutive season by Hekari United, who defeated Eastern Stars in the Grand Final 4–0. The Golden Boot was won by Jamal Seeto of Besta PNG United, while teammate Emmanuel Simon was the Player of the Season. Teams There were seven teams in the competition, with three teams withdrawing and one debuting. Previous runners-up Gelle Hills and Rapatona both withdrew, while University Inter also chose not to take part. Petro Souths became the only new team. The Papua New Guinea Football Association, PNGFA is the governing body of football (soccer) in Papua New Guinea. The PNGFA is a member of both FIFA and OFC, having FIFA and OFC affiliation in 1966 after being founded in 1962. The PNGFA is a member of the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee, meaning that the PNGFA has control over the men's and women's PNG Olympic football team. The New Zealand Football Championship's 2010–11 season (known as the ASB Premiership for sponsorship reasons) is the seventh season of the NZFC since its establishment in 2004. The home and away season began on 16 October 2010 with a kickoff between Auckland City FC and Waikato FC. The Fiji Football Association is the governing body of football in Fiji. It came into existence in 1961. It is the overseeing body of the Fiji National Team and its leagues. History Football started to be played in Fiji ever since the arrival of Europeans in Fiji and establishment of towns like Levuka where significant numbers of sports enthusiasts could congregate and socialise with a friendly game. Missionaries, who established schools in Fiji, introduced football as part of the school program and football was being played in schools as early as 1889.
