The 2011–12 Lithuanian Football Cup was the 23rd season of the Lithuanian annual football knock-out tournament. The competition started on 5 June 2011 with the matches of the first round and ended on 20 May 2012. Ekranas were the defending champions. FK Atlantas
FK Atlantas was a Lithuanian football team from the port city of Klaipėda. The club's name has changed several times. It was established in 1962 as ''Granitas'', and became ''PSK Aras'' in 1993. Since 1996, when FK Sirijus Klaipėda was absorbed into the club, it has had the name Atlantas, which in Lithuanian language means Atlantic Ocean. Atlantas were the SSR Lithuanian champions in 1978, 1980, 1981, and 1984. History Modern Atlantas was founded in 1996. In Soviet occupation period in Klaipėda City was team known as Granitas and Atlantas from 1970 was farm club of Granitas. Atlantas name was used in Lithuanian championship and Granitas in Soviet Union Championship. In Lithuanian independence period from 1990 Granitas and Atlantas tradition was lost, but in 1996 refounded team and named Atlantas. This team soon became a strongest football team in Klaipėda. Andrius Skerla
Andrius Skerla (born 29 April 1977) is a Lithuanian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He began his career in Lithuania with Žalgiris Vilnius, where his performances drew the attention of Dutch club PSV. After making only 25 appearances for PSV, Skerla was signed by Dunfermline Athletic in 2000. He spent five seasons with the club playing in almost 200 matches for the Pars, including the 2004 Scottish Cup Final where he scored in the 3–1 defeat against Celtic. After leaving Dunfermline in 2005, his later career saw him return east, playing for Russian side Tom Tomsk, Vėtra in Lithuania, Polish clubs Korona Kielce and Jagiellonia Białystok, before finishing his career with his home-town team, Žalgiris Vilnius. Pavel Dmitriyevich Komolov (russian: Павел Дмитриевич Комолов; born 10 March 1989) is a Russian former association football, footballer. FK Banga Gargždai
FK Banga Gargždai is a Lithuanian football club from the city of Gargždai. History FK Banga was founded in 1966. During the period from 1966 to 1990, the club was in the Soviet Lithuanian football championship. From 1990, they played in the Lithuanian championship. From 1994 to 2001, they were in the top tier. After the 2001 A Lyga, they were relegated to the I Lyga.
