2011–12 Hessenliga
The 2011–12 season of the Hessenliga was the fourth season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system. The champions, 1. FC Eschborn, were promoted to the 2012–13 Regionalliga Südwest. Viktoria Aschaffenburg exchanged their membership of the Hessischer Fußball-Verband (HFV; Hessian Football Association) for the Bavarian Football Association and were promoted one tier to the newly established Fußball-Regionalliga Bayern. Rot-Weiss Frankfurt and Eintracht Wetzlar were relegated to their respective Verbandsligen. 1. FCA Darmstadt took on the runners-up of the Verbandsligen Nord (TSV Lehnerz), Mitte ( FC 1931 Eddersheim) and Süd ( Kickers Obertshausen), finished first in the group, and thus secured their place in the 2012–13 Hessenliga along with second-placed FC 1931 Eddersheim. The Hessenliga (until 2008 ''Oberliga Hessen'') is the highest football league in the state of Hesse and the Hessian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. Overview The league was formed in 1945 and except for its first two seasons it has always played as one single division. The league was called Landesliga-Hessen until 1950 and actually formed the second tier of southern German football. With the introduction of the 2nd Oberliga Süd in 1950, the Landesliga-Hessen was renamed Amateurliga Hessen. From 1978, it was called Amateur Oberliga Hessen and finally, in 1994 it was renamed Oberliga Hessen. FC 1931 Eddersheim
The FC Eddersheim is a German association football club from the town of Hattersheim am Main, Hesse. The club's greatest success came in 2012 when it earned promotion to the Hessenliga, the highest football league in Hesse, but it was relegated again after only one season. History FC Eddersheim was formed on 12 December 1931. The club played in local amateur football for the first six decades of its existence until 1996, when it won the Bezirksliga and earned promotion to the Bezirksoberliga. SC Waldgirmes is a German association football club from Waldgirmes, Hesse. The 700 member club is best known for its football team, but also has departments for table tennis, women's gymnastics, alpine gymnastics, and cycling. History The association was founded in 1929 as ''SG Waldgirmes''. As a worker's side the club was banned for political reasons when the Nazis came to power in 1933 and a number of the footballers left for ''TV 05 Waldgirmes'' where they formed a football department. After World War II occupying Allied authorities banned all organizations in the country including sports and football associations. ''SG Waldgirmes'' was re-established in the summer of 1945 as a general community sports association. Kickers Offenbach II, is a reserve team of German association football club Kickers Offenbach. The team, which during the times the senior side played in professional football, played as Kickers Offenbach Amateure, has on occasion played as high as the Hessenliga, the highest league in the state of Hesse. History Kickers Offenbach Amateure made a first appearance in higher league football when it won promotion to the Landesliga Hessen-Mitte in 1970 and went on to win this league in its first season there. The team then played in the tier three Amateurliga Hessen from 1971 to 1974 until being disbanded at the end of that season. SV Buchonia Flieden is a German association football club in Flieden, Hesse. History The association was created in January 1912 in the hotel "Zum Hasenfuß". From its founding until the end of the 1970s the club played as a lower division side with its first notable success coming in 1978 with the team's promotion to the Landesliga Hessen-Nord (V) and their advance to the final of the Hessenpokal in 1980. Rot-Weiß Darmstadt is a German association football club based in Darmstadt, Hesse. The club's greatest success has been promotion to the Hessenliga, which it achieved for the first time in 2010. OSC Vellmar is a German sports club based in Vellmar, Hesse which has departments for budō, weight lifting, handball, inline hockey, Taekwondo, dance, table tennis, gymnastics, and winter sports. SV Wehen Wiesbaden II was a German association football club based in Wiesbaden, Germany. It was the reserve team of SV Wehen Wiesbaden. FC Viktoria 09 Urberach is a German association football club from the city of Rödermark, Hesse. History The club was formed on 24 December 1909 but only entered competitive football in 1914.
