2011–12 Greenock Morton F.C. Season
Season 2011–12 sees Greenock Morton compete in their fifth consecutive season in the First Division, having finished 7th in the 2010–11 season. Story of the season May Top league goal scorer Allan Jenkins rejected a new deal at the club, and will join a new club on 15 May. It turned out that he was offered more money to go to Northern Ireland and sign for part-timers Ballymena United. Brian Graham, Ryan Kane and Nathan Shepherd were all released. Grant Evans signed a one-year permanent deal after his loan deal expired. Ross Forsyth became Morton's second signing of the season, coming in on a free transfer from Stirling Albion, on a part-time basis. Allan Moore confirmed pre-contract agreements with another two ex-Stirling players in Paul di Giacomo and Andy Graham, they completed the deals in June 2011. Greenock (; sco, Greenock; gd, Grianaig, ) is a town and administrative centre in the Inverclyde council area in Scotland, United Kingdom and a former burgh within the historic county of Renfrewshire, located in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. Allan Jenkins (footballer)
Allan Jenkins (born 7 October 1981 in Stranraer) is a Scottish professional footballer who last played for Dalbeattie Star. Jenkins started his career at home town club Stranraer where he played for eight years, he spent a two-year spell at the now defunct "big spenders" Gretna in the SPL before ending his time in Scotland with Greenock Morton. He is perhaps best known for his time at Ballymena United. At all his senior clubs, Jenkins has been the captain on at least one occasion. Career Early years As a schoolboy Jenkins represented Dumfries and Galloway region playing with the likes of Kevin Kyle. Kevin Kelbie (born 21 December 1984) is a Scottish former footballer. He has previously played in the Scottish Football League for Greenock Morton and Stirling Albion. He also had spells in Northern Ireland with Glentoran, Ballymena United and Glenavon. Carlo Gordon Monti (born 10 July 1990) is a Scottish professional footballer, who plays for Beith Juniors in the West of Scotland League. He has previously played at Scottish Championship level for Greenock Morton and Dundee. Club career Monti started his career with Celtic, signing as a nine-year-old and working his way through the ranks to the Celtic first team squad where he was earmarked as an attacking wing-back by the late Tommy Burns. Andrew Graham (born 22 September 1983, Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish League One side Alloa Athletic. Graham started his career as a youth with Glasgow Amateurs, before playing for Stirling Albion, Hamilton Academical, Greenock Morton, Dumbarton and Ayr United. Paul Di Giacomo
Paul Di Giacomo (born 30 June 1982, in Glasgow) is a Scottish footballer. He began his career at Kilmarnock, before dropping into the Scottish Football League First Division with Airdrie United to move closer to his partner at the time who had just had a boy named Thomas, then Ross County. He also had loan spells from Kilmarnock with Stirling Albion and Partick Thistle. Ross Forsyth (born 20 November 1982 in Glasgow) is a Scottish semi-professional footballer and coach who last played for Clydebank. Forsyth has previously played for St Johnstone, Greenock Morton, Dumbarton and Stirling Albion. Grant Evans (born 3 January 1990) is a Scottish professional footballer, who plays for Albion Rovers, on loan from Pollok. He has previously played in the Scottish Premier League for Hamilton Academical. Career He made his début for Hamilton Academical in August 2007 against Ayr United in the Scottish League Challenge Cup. He went on loan to Scottish Third Division side Dumbarton, in January 2008, until the end of the season. He made his debut for Dumbarton against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup that same month.
