The 2011/12 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup was the thirty third World Cup season in freestyle skiing organised by International Ski Federation. The season started on 9 December 2011 and ended on 18 March 2012. This season included five disciplines: moguls, aerials, ski cross, halfpipe and slopestyle. Mikaël Kingsbury
Mikaël Kingsbury (born July 24, 1992) is a Canadian freestyle skier and is the most accomplished mogul skier of all time. He achieved eminence early in his career after earning the 2009–10 FIS World Cup Rookie of the Year award. He is a nine-time FIS Freestyle World Cup title-holder for both moguls and overall freestyle, owning the records for most men's Moguls World Cup titles and Overall Freestyle World Cup titles. He also owns the records for career World Cup moguls victories with 71, and consecutive Freestyle World Cup event wins with 13. He is the first man to have won both the moguls and dual moguls World Championship events, and has won the most medals at the Freestyle World Championships of any male competitor in history, having won a medal in 11 of the 12 events he has competed in. Aerial Skiing
Aerial skiing or aerials is a freestyle skiing discipline where athletes ski down a slope to launch themselves off a kicker (a vertically inclined ramp) and perform multiple twists and flips before landing on an inclined landing hill. Aerialists are scored on their jumps based on air, form and landing with their score multiplied by the degree of difficulty of the jump they performed. Internationally, the sport is contested at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, and the Winter Olympic Games. Patrick Deneen (skier)
Patrick Deneen (born December 25, 1987) is an American freestyle skier, specializing in moguls. Deneen was the gold medalist at the 2009 International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle World Ski Championships. In December 2009, Deneen won the US Olympic trials, held at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, securing a spot on the US Olympic Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. In FIS World Cup events, he has reached the podium at 4 events in 25 starts, and was the 2008 Freestyle Rookie of the Year. He did not advance to the moguls final, placing 25th in the qualifying round. Jeremy Cota
Jeremy Cota (born October 24, 1988) is an athlete on the U.S. Ski Team; he competes in the freestyle skiing events of Moguls and Dual Moguls. Early years Cota was born in Greenville, Maine and attended Carrabassett Valley Academy in Carrabassett, Maine. United States Ski Team Cota was the 2009 NorAm champion. His rookie season on the World Cup (2010), he had four top-15 results, including placing 6th in his first World Cup and 7th in his second, both in Deer Valley, Utah, on January 14 and 16, 2010, respectively. Sho Kashima
Sho William Kashima (born November 1, 1986) is an American freestyle skier from El Paso, Texas. Sho currently resides in Park City, Utah. Sho was considered a threat to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team in Vancouver, but missed the 2010 Games after suffering a knee injury in January of that year, ending his season. Early career Sho began skiing when he was 4yrs old, after his father was hired at Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Growing up, Kashima idolized 1998 Olympic moguls champion Jonny Moseley, and it was Moseley's gold in Nagano that inspired him to compete in the Olympics. Anthony Benna
Anthony Benna (born September 25, 1987) is a French freestyle skier, specializing in moguls. Benna competed at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics for France. He did not advance to the moguls final in either case, with best finish 23rd in 2014. Benna's greatest achievement has been winning gold at the 2015 World Championships moguls event, with his previous best finish at the World Championships being 16th in 2007. Benna made his World Cup debut in February 2005. As of January 2015, he has finished on the podium at World Cup events four times. Méribel
Méribel () is a ski resort in the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps. Méribel refers to three neighbouring villages in the Les Allues commune of the Savoie department of France, near the town of Moûtiers (), called Méribel Centre, Méribel-Mottaret and Méribel Village. The villages are within Vanoise National Park and a part of the Les Trois Vallées interlinked ski system.
