Cabinda (city)
Cabinda, also known as Chioua, is a city and a municipality located in the Cabinda Province, an exclave of Angola. Angolan sovereignty over Cabinda is disputed by the secessionist Republic of Cabinda. The city of Cabinda had a population of 550,000 and the municipality a population of 624,646, at the 2014 Census. The residents of the city are known as ''Cabindas'' or ''Fiotes''. Cabinda, due to its proximity to rich oil reserves, serves as one of Angola's main oil ports. History The city was founded by the Portuguese in 1883 after the signing of the Treaty of Simulambuco, in the same period as the Berlin Conference. Cabinda was an embarkation point for slaves to Brazil. There are considerable offshore oil reserves nearby. Rosso is the major city of south-western Mauritania and capital of Trarza region. It is situated on the Senegal River at the head of the river zone allowing year-round navigation. The town is 204 km south of the capital Nouakchott. The Arabic name is Al-Quwarib. History Rosso was once the capital of the Emirate of Trarza, a Precolonial Sahrawi dominated state in Africa. Under French colonial rule Senegal and Mauritania were administered as a single entity. Mílton Lourenço Rosa Barros (born 21 June 1984) is an Angolan professional basketball player. He is also a member of the Angola national basketball team. He is in height and 86 kg (190 pounds) in weight. Pavilhão da Cidadela is an Angolan indoor sporting arena located in Luanda, Angola. The capacity of the arena is 6,873 people. Reggie Moore
Reginal Dennis Benjamin Moore (March 31, 1981 – June 12, 2023) was an American-born Angolan basketball player. A power forward, he graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2003. He played in Norway, United States Basketball League (USBL; under coach John Starks), Germany, and Portugal. In 2012, Moore was granted Angolan citizenship, thus being eligible to play for the Angolan national squad. He is only the second U.S. citizen in the history of the country's existence to ever be granted Angolan nationality. Moore died in Luanda on June 12, 2023, at the age of 42. Carlos Edilson Alcântara Morais (; born 16 October 1985) is an Angolan basketball player for the Petro de Luanda of the Angolan Basketball League. Standing at , he plays as shooting guard, or small forward. Morais is one of the most decorated players ever in Angolan basketball, as he has won nine Angolan League titles and was the league's MVP once (in 2007) and scoring leader four times.
